Power Shot
To do a power shot go to the options screen. Then go to Penalties and make the mode Arcade Mode. Then when you play the game hold C-Down + A at the same time. If the stick is still in the air then let go of C-Down and A.
Power Check
To do the Power Check go to the Options screen. Then go to Penalties and switch the mode to Arcade Mode. Now when you play you will be able to do the Power Check when you don't have the puck by pressing C-Left next to the person with the puck.
Make Your Own Team
Go to the options screen. Once there, hold the "L" button and press the bottom "C" button two times. Then press the top "C" button two times, bottom "C" two times, right "C" button two times and bottom "C" one last time. After you have completed the code sequence, a row of 16 zeros and the word SPECIALS" will appear at the bottom of the screen.
Exit the options menu, and go to the "Team Stats" screen. Press the top "C" button ten times. Two new team names will appear! Use the D-Pad to flip through the team names. Once you have found the two teams that you want to change, press the "A" button. You can only copy other players to these teams, you will not be able to copy players on these two teams to other teams.
After you press the A button, the first team you are going to change will appear on the left side, and a roster for one of the other teams in the game will appear on the right. Press the B button to scroll through the teams on the left until you see the team you want to take a player from. Use the D-Pad to highlight a player on each team. The player on the left will be swapped with the player on the right! When you have the players you want to trade selected, press A. You can change/replace as man players as you want and even replace all of the players on the left hand team with duplicates!! Once the left team roster is set the way you like it, press Start!
The second custom team will now appear on the left. You can now modify this team the same way you did the first team! When you are done with everything, press start to return to the TEAM STATS screen. The custom teams will now be available in one player, multi-player and Season mode!!! Note that only two custom teams can exist at a time, so if you repeat this process, you will erase any teams you already created!
Note: that you should also put in the special codes for the special teams, that way you can pick and mix some of the old hockey players (Hull, etc.) with the new ones!
Non-Stop Fighting (Almost)
At the options screen, hold down the L button, and push the following buttons: Right C, Left C, Left C, Right C, Down C, Up C, Up C, Down C, Left C, Right C, Right C, Left C, Right C, and finally Left C. Make sure you held down the L button the whole time when you pressed those buttons. If you did the code correctly, you should get into a fight every 5 to 20 seconds!
Super Teams
Go to the Options Screen (you know, where you choose the rink size, team size, toggle penalties and more) and hold down the L button (on top of the controller.) While you're holding down the L button, press Right C, Left C, Left C, Right C, Left C, Left C, Right C, Left C & Left C. When you go to the team selection screen, you should see four "super" teams: Canada, USA, 99ers and Williams.
Hint: If you do the code correctly a 1 should appear in the 10th spot from the left.
Invisible Players
During the opening face off, pause the game and select Replay. Make a player flash by pressing L or R, and while he's still flashing, press the Z-trigger button. He disappears! You can make all the players disappear and play the game!
Two-Player Practice Mode
You need two controllers or more to do this one. When you get to the main menu, move the joystick onto Practice mode and press A & hold it on one controller. Then at the same time, press A & hold it on another controller. It will let two-players in the practice mode.
Ad Trick
At any options menu screen (any non-gameplay menu), simply hit the Z-button to see an advertisement scroll across the lower part of the screen. Each time the Z-button is pressed, a different ad should appear. Included are ads from Campbell's Soup, Upper Deck, Beckett, Coca-Cola, Williams, and many others.
Credits with Pictures
If you hit the A button 20 times from the title screen, it will bring up a list of the staff credits of Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey, including some pictures of them.
Debug Mode
Like in the old Wayne Gretzky, you can bring up a debug mode to change your players' appearance, and more. Go to the Options screen, then press C-Down + R, C-Left + R or C-Up + R. At the bottom, a window will pop up that lets you modify a 16-bit register. You can only change the first 6 bits.
To alter the bits, use these controls:
C-Down + R: changes head size
C-Left + R: changes body size
C-Up + R: changes height
