|
Play Luigi's Shooting Star mini-game and win both levels. When you get to the third level, beat the high score of 60 to unlock the Castle Court in linked play and exhibition modes.
Tropics Court
Play Baby Mario's Target Shot mini-game and win both levels. When you get to the third level, beat the high score of 60 to unlock the Tropics Court in linked play and exhibition modes.
Jungle Court
Play Donkey Kong's Banana Bunch mini-game and win both levels. When you get to the third level, beat the high score of 60 to unlock the Jungle Court in linked play and exhibition modes.
Star Court
Play Mario's Boo Blast mini-game, complete levels 1 and 2, and beat the high score to unlock the Star Court.
Play as Students
Defeat the students you face in the Junior, Senior, Varsity, and Traveling Leagues to unlock them at the character selection screen.
Play as Mario
Successfully complete the game in Singles.
Play as Peach
Successfully complete the game in Doubles.
Nintendo 64 characters
Use the Transfer Pak with the Nintendo 64 version of Mario Tennis. Select "Transfer" at the main menu, then select "Game Pak Check". After it checks, an icon that says "Transfer N64 Characters" will appear. This will allow you to play as Bowser, Waluigi, Wario, and Yoshi.
Silver and Gold Rackets
Make sure you have the Iron Racket equipped, then go to the training courts. Go up to the lake and follow it until you see a boy practicing his swing. Tell him you do not like it and you will show him your swing. He will laugh, and you will get angry. Next, get ready to swing. In ten seconds, press A as many times as possible. If you press it 100 times, you will get the Silver Racket. If you swing it 150 times you will get the Gold Racket. Note: Try wrapping your hand in your shirt and rub it over A until it ends. You should be able to get either racket this way.
More mini-games
Unlock the Nintendo 64 characters, then check the mini-game screen. More entries should be available. To unlock even more mini-games, win the Junior, Senior, Varsity, and Traveling Leagues in Singles and Doubles.
Game reset
If you lose a game in RPG mode, pause the game immediately before the score appears. Save the game, quit, then resume the game you were just playing. The game (not match or set) will be reset.
Left-handed character
At the character selection screen, hold L while selecting a character to make them left-handed.
Handicap
Win the Star Cup with a character. Then at the character selection screen, hold R while selecting that same character to make them have handicaps and be more powerful. If done correctly, a yellow star will appear in the bottom right of the screen (for player one) or bottom left of the screen (for player two). Press L + R to have a left-handed player that is also a star character.
Play as Shy Guy
Win the Star Cup/Singles Tournament.
Play as Donkey Kong Jr.
Win the Star Cup/Doubles Tournament.
Donkey Kong court
Win the Mushroom Cup/Singles Tournament with Donkey Kong.
Yoshi/Baby Mario court
Win the Mushroom Cup/Singles Tournament with Yoshi.
Birdo/Yoshi court
Win the Star Cup/Doubles Tournament with Birdo.
Mario/Luigi court
Win the Mushroom Cup/Singles Tournament with Mario.
Mario Brothers court 2
Win all the Doubles Tournament Cups with Mario. Note: This is another Mario Brothers Court, but not the alternate way to get the previous one.
Mario/Luigi Castle court
Win the Star Cup Doubles and Singles Tournament with Mario.
Wario Brothers court
Win all the Doubles Tournament Cups with Wario.
Piranha Plant court
Note: This court only works in Piranha Plant Challenge. Complete any court (perfect, all 50 balls) in the Piranha Plant Challenge with any character.
Special Cups
Win all the Tournament Cups with all the characters (including Shy Guy and Donkey Kong Jr.) to unlock the Special Cups, which are much harder than the previous ones. Press R while selecting a character at the character selection screen to access the Special Tournament in the menu. The three Special Cups in order are Rainbow Cup, Moonlight Cup, and Planet Cup. Once you win a Cup, you will move onto the next one.
Bonus difficulty level
Win the Planet Cup with all sixteen players to enable the max difficulty setting in exhibition matches.
See the same replay again
Press B while in a replay to see the replay again at different angles. This can be done at any point of the replay for as many times as desired.
Restart replay during demo
Wait at the title screen until the demo begins. Press B to restart the replay. Any other button will end the demo.
Better chance of winning
When playing against the CPU, if you win a game or a set in the match, save the game, then continue the game. In case you lose, you can continue from the saved game and start with the advantage.

When you're serving, through the ball up with A or B. Wait a second, then smash the ball by pressing Up and A as you would for an overhead smash. If you did it right, you will hear a sound like an overhead smash.

When its your turn to serve, throw it up with the A button, wait two seconds, then slam it with B. If you did it right you should hear like a whistling sound as it gows over the net.

If you play one of the smallest character's (Koopa troopa or Toad), you get a diving skill that you can you's by holding the direction (Left or right) and the by pressing A button you'll dive in that direction saving the ball from getting past you. Weather you be a singles or a doubles match if you stay right above the divider line you can dive and hit or tap over, even long bomb the ball as far as you can while keeping it in bounds. The only way the ball can get past you is when the computer does a everynow and then long hit from the net, which rarely happens. (even no if it get's behind you your teamate will knab it for you) Doing this will make you a unstopabble tennis pro.
Play as Wario and Rush

Beat the game on singles 5 times with Mario, 5 times with Luigi, and 5 times with Donkey Kong. You will now be able to play as Wario and Rush (Mega Man's dog.)

At the title screen press L, L, R, L, R, Select. If you did this right, you'll hear a beep.
