Introduction/Thanks ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hi everyone! My name is Mark Tennis and I am 19 years old from Phoenix, Arizona, USA. I'm writing this walkthrough in hopes of helping people in getting 100% in this game. This, in my opinion, is the best of all of the games in the Grand Theft Auto series. It will probably take me an incredibly long time to finish this walkthrough, but I will really enjoy making it. Also, I will try to make this walkthrough as SPOILER-FREE as possible. I will try to keep this walkthrough short and sweet when it comes to how to do certain things (control-wise), as the game itself provides tutorials along the way. Hopefully, you have played Vice City or GTAIII, because this game feels much like the previous GTA's. I want to thank Rockstar Games for making such a great game and I want to thank BradyGames for making an EXTREMELY helpful guide. I urge anybody to go out and buy the strategy guide for this as the maps are a HUGE help as well as some of the strategies. Also, I am writing this walkthrough for anybody who wants to get 100% in this game. If you just want to go through the story missions, then this is not the guide for you. Here is the basic layout, for each section, I will label differently. For main story line missions, those will be outlined using * For example, ****************************************************************************** Mission #1 -- BLA ****************************************************************************** For Odd Job missions (side-quests that contribute to 100% as well as give you some rewards), those will be outlined using + There are also additional fun things to do such as a basketball game that do not contribute to 100%. These will be in their own seperate section, not in the walkthrough. So, without further ado, lets go onto the walkthrough.... ****************************************************************************** Beginning Mission #1 -- The Beginning ****************************************************************************** After watching the opening scenes, you will start off in an alleyway with a BMX bike in front of you. Walk over to it and hit the Triangle button to get on. To go forward on the bike, either hold the X button or tap it repeatedly (for quicker boost). Your objective is to reach the "CJ" Icon on the radar. Along the way, some tips will appear in the upper left (always look out for these pop ups in the upper left throughout the game) on how to ride the bike. This is an easy mission designed to get you used to the controls and the feel of the game. Once you reach the "CJ" Icon, hit the Triangle button to jump off of the bike and walk into the red glowing area in front of the house (your house). Doing this will automatically trigger the next mission. ****************************************************************************** Beginning Mission #2 -- Sweet & Kendl ****************************************************************************** After viewing some more scenes, you will be facing a bike. Get on the bike and follow Sweet (has a blue arrow over his head and is a blue dot on the radar) to the Mulholland Intersection. Be cautious as a group of gangsters are following you in a Voodoo. Try avoiding it as much as possible, or maybe lead them into an obstacle. Either way, when you get to the Mulholland Intersection, part two of this mission will begin. Now you will have to follow Ryder (again, with a blue arrow over his head) through some alleyways and through a skate park all the way back to your house. When you get there, just go into the red marker to finish the mission. =========================== Reward: Respect+ Percentage Complete: 0.53% =========================== Now you can enter your house and save your game. You can also play an arcade game at Carl's TV. Upstairs, you can find a camera and a changing room (to change Carl's outfits). Also, at this time you can do some of the driving side-quests, such as taxi missions. This is a good way to earn some money and get familiar with the city. Also, you will receive a cell phone call from Sweet (Press L1 to answer cell phone when it rings). ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Vehicle Mission #1 -- Taxi Driver ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The taxi cab missions in this game are much like the ones in other GTA games. A tip meter is introduced in this game and will drop as time goes on during a fare and as your cab takes damage. Don't worry if the tip meter drops to zero though, as the passenger will not flee, you can still drop he/she off and earn money for rattling off 5, 10, 15, etc in a row. To start this mission, just find a taxi cab (either a Taxi or Cabbie) and get in. They are pretty common and can be easily found after a few minutes (more or less) of driving around. Once in, press the R3 button to begin. To complete this mission, you must drop off 50 fares successfully (it doesn't have to be 50 in a row). ================================================ Reward: Nitro boosts on all Cabbie's and Taxi's Percentage Complete: 1.07% ================================================ After the mission, your fat and muscle stats should be all the way down, don't worry about that, you can build them back up a little later. After completing this mission, go back to your house in Ganton and save. Now get ready for the next vehicle mission. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Vehicle Mission #2 -- Paramedic ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The Paramedic mission is done in an Ambulance. This mission is just like the Paramedic mission in previous GTA's. Again, this is another good way to get some money and get familiar with the city. To start the mission, get into an ambulance and hit R3. You can find an ambulance at any of the three hospitals in Los Santos. You can also kill a few people to get one to show up. As you increase in level, more patients will need to be picked up, thus you need to plan your route out in the later levels. To pass this mission, you must complete Level 12, if you fail you will have to start over at Level 1 again. I recommend using the All Saints Hospital in Market (just west of Downtown Los Santos). If an ambulance is not out front, run some people over to get one to show up. ^^^ Tip sent in by Reverend420: It makes it easier if you punch the doors off your ambulance beforehand, I noticed that it saves some time for the patients to get in. I personally didn't need to do this, but if you are struggling to pass this mission, give it a try. ======================================= Reward: Raises Maximum Health to 150. Percentage Complete: 1.60% ======================================= Again, head back to your house and save. Time to do the next driving mission (only 2 more to go, for now). ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Vehicle Mission #3 -- Firefighter ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The Firefighter mission is done in a Fire Truck. Like the Paramedic mission, this is just like the Firefighter missions in other GTA's. To start the mission, get into a fire truck and press R3. You can find a fire truck at a fire station (the one I know of is in Commerce, just northeast of the freeway interchange, not Mulholland Intersection, but the intersection southwest of Glen Park) or try starting a fire (can be done by exploding cars -- beat a car up until it explodes). Like the paramedic mission, the higher the level, the more cars and people you have to put out. To operate the hose, press Circle to shoot water and use the right analog stick to aim. To complete the mission, you must complete Level 12. If you fail, you have to start over at Level 1 again. =============================== Reward: Become Fireproof Percentage Complete: 2.14% =============================== Head back to your house and save. One more vehicle mission to go (for now)! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Vehicle Mission #4 -- Pimping ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This mission is new to the GTA series and you need a Broadway to do this mission. A Broadway can usually be found around Unity Station (just steal one from anybody) in North El Corona (near Little Mexico). It is a 2 door convertible, they are pretty easy to spot, they look like a Hermes from Vice City (and hear, they sound somewhat like a Cheetah in Vice City). This is similar to the Taxi missions except that you are only transporting two people, your prostitutes. Its basically, pick up one, drop her off, pick up the other and drop her off. After dropping a girl off, there will not be a time limit to pick the other one up. So if your car gets beaten up, you can take it to the Pay N' Spray during that time. Sometimes the customer and your girl starts fighting. When you reach the scene, get out of you car and physically hit him. DO NOT KILL HIM. To complete this mission, you must successfully complete Level 10 (10 full transactions). ============================================================================ Reward: When you pick up a prostitute on the road, she pays you instead of you pay her. Percentage Complete: 2.67% ============================================================================ Again, head back to your house and save. There is an asset mission that you can complete at this time. This is the first of three Courier missions. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Courier Mission #1 -- Roboi's Food Mart, Los Santos ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The Courier missions work like the Pizza Boy mission in Vice CIty. You will drive/bike a two wheel vehicle and throw packages through a red ring. There are four stages in each Courier mission and as you move up in stages, the locations spread out. In the first three stages, the time limit is five minutes (these are pretty easy). In the last stage, you will be given eight minutes to deliver six packages to locations scattered around ALL of Los Santos. If you miss a ring, you can ride over the package that you threw and pick it back up. The first Courier mission is located at Roboi's Food Mart in Commerce. From the south end of the police station, head west on the road (past town hall) past a street on the left (south), the Food Mart is tucked away on the south side of the road. Jump on the BMX bike that is sitting outside to automatically begin the mission. To complete the mission, successfully complete Stage 4. If you fail, you will have to begin again at Stage 1. =========================================================================== Reward: Roboi's Food Mart becomes an asset and generates $2,000 a day, stop by each day to pick up the money. Percentage Complete: 3.21% =========================================================================== By doing the vehicle missions, you should have built up your Driving Skills by now, enough to enter the stadium anyway (I think your Driving Skills have to be at least 20%). This is the next Odd Job to do. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Stadium Mission #1 -- 8-Track ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This mission is located at the Los Santos Forum. It is the stadium on the southeast side of town. Just walk into the red marker outside of the stadium to begin. For those who played Vice City, this is similar to the Hot Ring race. Basically, it is a race around a track shaped like an 8. To complete this mission, you must win first place. This is a tough mission that could take quite a few tries. The key is to avoid damage as much as possible. Also, let go of the accelerator as you enter turns, then accelerate as you exit each turn. This should make it easier to control. =================================================================== Reward: $10,000 prize, the Monster and Hotring Racer appear on the Northwest corner of the stadium from now on. Percentage Complete: 3.74% =================================================================== At this point, you should have acquired quite a bit of money (if you did the vehicle missions). I have over $150,000 because I did 50 in a row in the taxi driver mission. If you didn't get 50 in a row, you should have around $100,000 or so. With this money, you can buy some safehouses around Los Santos. They vary in price and some have garages. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Safehouse Purchasing (1 and 2) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Buying safehouses in this game contribute to 100%, so you want to buy all of them if you want to reach 100%. It is good to buy a safehouse that is not located anywhere near another safehouse (for convenience, if you are out and about and are looking for a quick way to save rather then drive all the way back over to Ganton). For now, I will direct you to two safehouses in Los Santos that are convenient for location and have garages. Safehouse #1: This is located in Santa Maria Beach. It is just west of the pier and is located along the road that goes along the beach. You will see a small house icon rotating around the front of the property. To buy the property, step into the icon and hit L1. This property costs $30,000 and it has a garage. So now we have a safe house in Eastern (Ganton) and Western (Santa Maria Beach), lets buy one in central Los Santos. Some people like the safehouse in Jefferson because it located closer to the Off Track Betting place (a quick, and IMO cheap, way to earn lots of money), but I prefer a different one in central Los Santos. Safehouse #2: This one is located in El Corona at the end of a cul-de-sac. This is east of Verdant Bluffs, just north of the airport and just south of Unity Station. This place costs $10,000 and it has a garage. =========================== Percentage Complete: 4.81% =========================== That's it for the side missions for right now. The Vigilante Mission can be done at this time, but I will wait until later in this walkthrough to cover that mission. The BMX Bike mission is also open and you should have a cycling skill of around 50% if you did the Courier mission. Again, I will wait until a little later to cover this mission as it will be easier with 75%+ Cycling skill (you can get a bike and build your skill if you want, then you can do the mission now if you choose to). Now save your game and head back to Carl's house in Ganton. Next door you will see a red marker in front of your neighbors (Ryder) house (Shown as the "R" on the radar). Enter it to begin the next story mission. ****************************************************************************** Beginning Mission #3 -- Ryder ****************************************************************************** After viewing the scene, you will have a car in front of you with a blue arrow over it. Enter the car and drive over to the Barber Shop (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar). Park the car in the red marker in front of the shop and enter the building. Walk over to the red marker and you will sit in the chair. Select one of the hairstyles and hit X to preview it. If you want it, press X again to purchase it. The different hair styles will raise your respect and sex appeal stats to different levels, depending on which one you selected. Of the different styles, the cornrow is the one that will get you the most (it is also the most expensive). After picking a hair style, hit the Triangle button to exit the chair. Ryder will comment on your new haircut and you will get a new objective. Run across the street to the pizza place and enter it. Once inside, step into the red marker to order a meal. The larger the meal, the more fat you will gain (except with the salad meal in which he doesn't gain any fat). Also, eating a meal will replenish your energy if you have gotten hungry or gotten injured. Use the right/left directions button to choose a meal and hit X to buy it. Hit the Triangle button to exit and you will see another scene. Run back across the street and enter Ryder's car. Quickly escape and head back to Ryder's house (you can also run over the pizza boy) and drive into the red marker to finish this mission. =========================== Reward: Respect+ Percentage Complete: 5.35% =========================== After the mission, run back into your house and save. Then head back out and a few houses down is where your next story mission is. This is denoted as the "S" on your map and radar. You will see a red marker out in front of the house. Enter it to begin the next mission. ****************************************************************************** Sweet Mission #1 -- Tagging Up Turf ****************************************************************************** After the scene, get into the car in front of you and drive over to the side of a bridge in Idlewood (the yellow dot on the radar). Once there, park in the red marker and Sweet will get out and spray paint the Grove Street tag over the other gang's purple tag (this also happens to be the beginning of the next odd job, which I will cover in the next section). Afterwards, Sweet will tell you to spray over two other tags in the neighborhood. These are the blue markers on your radar. One is right across the street. Walk over to it, hold R1 to aim at hit and hit Circle to spray. The second tag is in the alleyway behind the house with the first tage on it. Go over to it and spray that one too, then return back and get in Sweet's car. Now drive over to the next yellow dot (in East Los Santos) and stop in the red marker there. Sweet runs off, leaving you to spray three more tags in the area. The first is on the side of the building with the wall mural. The second is around back of the building (to the north). There are two gangsters standing in front of it. Either ignore them and spray anyway, or spray them both in the face and they will eventually die. The third and final tag is a little trickier to get to then the others. Run over to the yellow dot on the radar and enter the red marker. Press Square to climb the fence. Then go forward and climb another fence. Turn to the left, see that platform? Climb it and then climb up to the roof. Run around to the right and go to the north side of the wall to find the last tag. Spray over it and then jump off of the roof and enter Sweet's car. Now drive back to Ganton (follow the yellow dot on the radar) and drive into the red marker outside Sweet's house to complete this mission. =========================== Rewards: $200, Respect+ Percentage Complete: 5.88% =========================== Afterwards, you should receieve cell phone call from Officer Hernandez. Head back into your house and save your game. Note that a spray can is now located inside your house, upstairs across from the changing room. You will use this in the next Odd Job, the first collection mission, the Los Santos Gang Tags. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Collection Mission #1 -- Los Santos Gang Tags ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ In the last story mission, you sprayed 6 tags. Well, there are 94 more of these tags, scattered throughout Los Santos. I will do my best to direct you to each and every one of these. I will cover them in the numbered order of how they are in the BradyGames Strategy Guide. We have so far gotten #1,2,3,4,5 and 20. If you run out of spray paint, die, or get arrested, you can always return back to your house for another spray can (NOTE: It only appears in your house in Ganton, not any of your other safe houses). With each tag you spray, you earn more respect. <<< Location #6: East Los Santos - About a block west of the Northeast corner of Los Santos. This tag is located on the side of some stairs that is located along the north side of a straight street (the one south of the northernmost street in the city). <<< Location #7: Las Colinas - Along the northernmost street, just north of Location 6 and a little east. This tag is on the side of a yellow house on the south side of the street. It is actually the second house to the south (along the road heading to the south), on the south side of the house. <<< Location #8: Las Colinas - Follow the northernmost road to where it ends to the east. This tag is located at the front of the building (facing the ocean) on the Southwest corner of the intersection. <<< Location #9: East Beach - Follow the easternmost road south along the beach, just to the south of Location 8. This tag is located on the north side of a building, right beside the easternmost road. <<< Location #10: East Beach - Follow the road south some more from Location 9 until you reach a pedestrian overpass. Turn right into the parking lot, then make a quick left in the parking lot and you will see the next tag on a wall, next to a garage. <<< Location #11: East Beach - Head back out to the road and turn left (north). Follow the road and turn at the first street to the left. Then turn right shortly afterwards into the parking structure. This tag is just to the right after entering the structure. <<< Location #12: East Beach - Make a right back onto the road you just turned on (west), then make the first right. Just after the road heads up the incline, look on the right (east) side of the road and you will see some steps leading up to a building. Go up the steps and the next tag will be on the wall to the left. <<< Location #13: East Beach - Continue following the road up the incline (to the north) and head past the first intersection. Stop right before the bridge (where it says Golden Palms on the building) and head east, then south around the building. Here you will see some body armor and the next tag (to the south of the armor, you have to hop the wall). <<< Location #14: Los Flores - Go back south along the road to the intersection you just passed and turn right. Follow the road until you see an empty billboard on the right (north). This tag in on the side of the building across the street to the south of the billboard. <<< Location #15: East Los Santos - Just west from Location 14, make a left (south) onto the road. Go straight and just past the intersection, you will see the next tag on the side of the building to the left (east). <<< Location #16: East Beach - Pause the game and look at the map. See that backward "S" shaped road on your map, to the southeast of your current location? That is where the next tag is, on the west side of the road (when the road is going north/south). <<< Location #17: Los Flores - From the north end of the "S" shaped road where you found Location 16, turn north onto the road. You will see an alleyway on the left (west) side of the road. Go into that and follow it for a short ways and you will see another alley on the left (south). Head in there and you will see the tag at the end (to the left, you have to reach the end, then turn around to see it). <<< Location #18: East Los Santos - This tag is located in the alleyway across the street to the west and north of Location 17. <<< Location #19: East Los Santos - Right next to Location 18. You can't miss it if you found #18. <<< Location #21: East Los Santos - Head out to the road to the west of Locations 18 & 19 and turn left (south). Head to the end of the road and you will find stairs leading down to the road below, take them. Turn to the right and enter the tunnel. This is where this tag is located. <<< Location #22: East Los Santos - Go to the road to the south and turn right (west). There will be a building on the left (Groceries Productos Mexicanos). Drive into the red marker once there and another scene will play out. Now head north and around the block to the red dot on the radar. This is a drug dealer. Fight him by targeting him with R1 and attacking with the Circle button. You can also hit him while he's on the ground by keeping him targeted and tapping the Triangle button. After beating him down, a short cinematic will play. Take the baseball bat that the drug dealer dropped and head over to the dealers' crib, indicated by the yellow dot on the radar. Go into the red marker, then get out of the car and head inside the building. You will be attacked by a few gang members. Beat up the dealer and the two gang members in here, then head out of the building (via the door with the yellow arrow in front of it). Now follow the Voodoo and perform a drive-by. Note that Ryder and Sweet will open fire on the Voodoo, so you don't really need to join in, but you could help out if you want to. Make sure to keep your distance from the Voodoo so that your car doesn't blow up along with it. If the gang members are able to escape the explosion, hunt them down and run over them. (haha, Ice Cube's "Today was a Good Day" was on the radio while I was doing this part of the mission) Afterwards, head back to Sweet's house to drop him and Ryder off (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar, pull into the red marker to drop him off). Head there now (use the entrance with the yellow arrow in front of it) and enter to begin the next side mission. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Gym Mission #1 -- Los Santos Gym ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ There are four ways to work out at the gym: the treadmill, the exercise bike, the bench press and the dumbells. Use the treadmill and bike to increase stamina and use the bench press and dumbells to increase muscle. Once on each machine, you will be given simple instructions on how to operate it. There is a limit to how much you can work out in a day, so either pass the time in between workout sessions by waiting around, or repeatedly go back to your house to save (time passes 6 hours each time you save). Once you have gotten enough muscle, you can challenge the trainer here by entering the red marker next to the boxer and hit right on the D-Pad to answer yes to his question. In order to complete this mission, you must defeat the boxer in a fight to learn new moves. It isn't too hard to beat him. Once you can get in a few hits, keep on attacking (don't forget to use the Triangle button when he is on the ground). ======================================================================= Rewards: Three new Fighting Moves learned; respect, muscle and stamina improved Percentage Complete: 8.02% ======================================================================= Note that you can keep returning here to keep up your stamina and muscle stats. Head over to Sweet's house and enter the red marker (the "S" on the radar) to begin the next mission. ****************************************************************************** Sweet Mission #4 -- Nines and AK's ****************************************************************************** Big Smoke will join you on this mission. After the scene, enter the Glendale and drive over to Emmet's house in Willowfield (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar) and head into the red marker to begin a sequence. Eventually, you will be given a gun tutorial. Follow the instructions that pop up on screen and you should be fine. This tutorial covers basic aiming, cycling through targets, shooting while crouching and exploding cars by manually aiming and shooting the gas tank. Note that as you shoot more and more, your skills will grow with each type of weapon, allowing you reload faster and get better accuracy among other things. Also, with some weapons you can hold two of at the same time when you reach the Hitman skill level. Anyways, after the tutorial drive to Big Smoke's house (again, the yellow dot on the radar) and enter the red marker once there. Now you should receive a phone call from Sweet. Get back into the car and drive over to Binco's clothing store (yellow dot on the radar) and enter the building. Here you can purchase clothes to wear by entering the red marker. Note that the more Green you wear, the higher your Respect will be (since it is the Grove Street gangs color). To find out what clothes give you how much respect and sex appeal, refer to the Clothing section in the Non-Required Odd Jobs section of this Walkthrough. To complete this mission, exit the store. =========================== Reward: Respect+ Percentage Complete: 8.56% =========================== Note that you can return to Emmet's house to pick up a 9mm at any time. His place is indicated on the map by the gun icon. Also, completing "Nines and AK's" opens up a new mission location, Big Smoke. This is indicated on the map by a "BS" icon. But, for now, head back to your house and save your game. Be sure to pick up the Tec-9 from your kitchen, you may need it in the next mission. To begin the next mission, head back to Sweet's house (the "S" on the radar) and enter the red marker. ****************************************************************************** Sweet Mission #5 -- Drive-By ****************************************************************************** You will be joined by Ryder, Sweet and Big Smoke for this mission. After the scene, get in the Greenwood and head towards Jefferson (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar). Go into the red marker. Now you will have to drive-by and kill Ballas (they are indicated on the radar by red dots). Remember to keep your distance from the other gang's cars so you don't take any damage if their car explodes. You can also join in on the shooting by pulling up next to the target and holding R2 or L2 to aim on either side, then hitting the Circle button to shoot. This can be performed using a machine pistol (Tec-9, Micro-MP5, MP5). There are four different locations that have gang members to kill. Just keep going to where the red dots are on your radar until you finish killing the last group in Glen Park. Note that there is a bar at the top right that will tell you how much health your car currently has. When the bar reaches zero, the car will explode and you will fail the mission. After killing the last group, you will be hit with a two star wanted level. You must now drive to the pay-n-spray in Idlewood (the yellow dot on the radar). Once there, head into the garage to get your car sprayed (it is free this time, but $100 from now on). Afterwards, be on your best behavior while the stars are flashing, otherwise you will get them back. After getting rid of the wanted level, head back to your neighborhood in Ganton (the yellow dot on the radar) and drive into the red marker to complete this mission. =========================== Rewards: $500, Respect+ Percentage Complete: 9.09% =========================== Completing this mission opens up a new mission location, Ryder. This is the "R" on the radar. For now, lets continue with Sweet's missions. Make sure you grab a Tec-9 and AK-47 from your kitchen and head back to the red marker in front of Sweet's house to begin the next mission. ****************************************************************************** Sweet Mission #6 -- Sweet's Girl ****************************************************************************** After the scenes, go get a car (either from your garage or steal a car from someone on the street) and drive towards Playa Del Seville, south of the stadium (red dot on the radar). !!!NOTE!!! If you want to recruit some fellow gang members for this mission, walk up to one and target him by pressing and holding R1. While holding R1, hit Up on the D-Pad to recruit him. Gang members will follow you around and attack any rival gang members as well as people that you attack. Once you reach your destination, you should see Seville gang members. Do a drive-by and try to take out as many of them as you can. They will probably destroy your car, so hop out when it catches on fire and take out the rest of the Seville gang members while on foot with your AK-47. After all of the Seville gang members are dead, Sweet will call you and ask you to pick him up. Hop into a 4-door car (you can either steal one from somebody or get the Greenwood parked on the west side of the road, just north of where the red marker is) and drive it into the red marker to pick up Sweet and his girlfriend. Now head back to Sweet's house in Ganton (yellow dot on the radar). Watch out for the Seville gang, who will pursue you in their cars. Either dodge them, or try to do a drive-by on them. When you reach your neighborhood, drive into the red marker to complete this mission. =========================== Reward: Respect+ Percentage Complete: 9.63% =========================== Afterwards, save your game if you want and head back to Sweet's house for another mission. Again, go into the red marker outside of his house to begin the next mission. ****************************************************************************** Sweet Mission #7 -- Cesar Vialpando ****************************************************************************** After the scene, get into a car and head over to Willowfield (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar). Head into the red marker to enter the garage. The mechanic will give you a low rider. Now back the car into the garage and you will be able to modify your car. This is the Loco Low Company and it is the first Mod Garage in this game. There are a variety of things to do to your car, from getting a custom paint job to installing NOS. Refer to the Loco Low Company Mod Shop section in the Odd Job section of this walkthrough for a complete list on what you can do here. For now, you don't need anything extra to finish this mission, so exit the shop whenever you are done. Now drive over to Unity Station in El Corona (the yellow dot on the radar) and head into the red marker to start the competition. You will now have to make a wager on the competition, the minimum being $50, the maximum being $1000. When the competition starts, look at the bottom of the screen for a circle. A bunch of arrow icons will scroll through the circle in a random order. Push the RIGHT analog stick in the direction of the arrow as it passes through the circle. You will get points for each based on how well you do on each arrow. This isn't too hard, I beat it on my first try and even made quite a few mistakes. To complete the mission, just beat your opponents' score. A scene will play afterwards. ======================================== Reward: Double the amount of your wager Percentage Complete: 10.16% ======================================== Loco Low Company will now appear on the radar as a wrench icon. Head there after obtaining a lowrider to modify it. A new side mission is now available upon completion of this mission, so head back and save if you want, then go find a lowrider (or use the Savanna that you used in the competition) to get ready for the next mission. Also, you will receive a phone call from Cesar (hit L1 to answer the phone) and a new mission location will open up, indicated by "CV" on the radar. Transfenders also opens up (in Temple, near Vinewood), refer to the Transfenders section in the Odd Jobs section of the walkthrough for more information. Make sure you have a lowrider. If you need one, go to the house next door to Cesar's (next to the "CV" icon) to find a Blade. Be sure to stop by Loco Low's to give it some Nitrous, you're gonna need it on the next mission. You can buy some other things there, but they will only change the appearance of your vehicle. When you are ready, (I suggest saving the game with your modified vehicle in your garage down the street from Cesar's, in case you fail the next mission) go to the "CV" location on the radar and drive into the red marker to begin the next mission. ****************************************************************************** Cesar Mission #1 -- High Stakes, Low-Rider ****************************************************************************** After the scene, follow Cesar (indicated on the radar by a blue dot, also has a blue arrow over his car) into Verdant Bluffs and head into the red marker to begin the race. You will now race through a series of checkpoints that leads up to Vinewood and finishes at the Santa Maria pier. Try to keep an eye on the radar for the next checkpoint location. Use your nitrous (L1) on straightaway's to gain an advantage over your opponents. Also, be careful while turning, as lowriders tend to love to fishtail. Keep you lowrider low to the ground (L3 to change whether it is raised or lowered) for better handling. To complete this mission, finish the race in first place. It isn't too difficult to win this race, you should win it on your first couple of tries. ============================ Reward: $1000 Percentage Complete: 10.70% ============================ Afterwards, drive back to your savehouse in Ganton and save your game. Now it is time to begin a new series of missions. Head next door to Ryder's house (the "R" on the map) and enter the red marker out front to begin the next mission. !!!NOTE!!! This is a night mission. You can only begin this mission between the hours of Noon and 8 PM (12:00 to 20:00). ****************************************************************************** Ryder Mission #1 -- Home Invasion ****************************************************************************** After the scene, you will be in a Boxville. Ryder will accompany you on this mission. !!!NOTE!!! You will have eight minutes to complete this mission (the countdown clock is at the upper right of the screen). Drive over to the Colonel's house in East Beach (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar) and enter the red marker. Go into the house (where the yellow arrow is). Once inside, note the noise meter underneath the timer. Once it fills up, the Colonel will wake up and you will get a two star wanted level (and the Colonel will shoot at you with a shotgun), so be sure to not fill up the meter. The best way to sneak around is by crouching (L3) and then using the left analog to move around (tap lightly to move quietly). Now you must steal at least three crates of guns (additional crates are optional!). The first is located to the right of where you enter (by the wall near the cannon), it is indicated by a green arrow. Go over to it and hit Triangle to pick it up, then take it back outside. Load it into the Boxville by hitting the Triangle button again. Go back inside the house. The next crate is in the room opposite the stairs (to the right from where you enter) in the back left corner near the cabinets. Again, pick it up and take it back outside to the Boxville. The next crate is located at the top of the stairs. Repeat the same process as the first two. Another crate is also located upstairs in the hallway and there is another one in the Colonel's room (only try for this one if you are feeling lucky enough). Make sure you are outside of the house when the timer expires and get back into the Boxville. Now head to the lockup building (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar, there is no time limit) in Playa Del Seville and pull into the red marker. Now park the Boxville in the garage to complete this mission. ============================ Reward: Respect+ Percentage Complete: 11.23% ============================ With the completion of this mission, you will have unlocked the Burglar Odd Job. !!!NOTE!!! In the Strategy Guide, it lists this as a required mission, but when I did it, it did NOT raise my percentage at all, this is why I put it in the Non Required Odd Jobs section. Now, save your game at your savehouse in Ganton and grab some weapons from your kitchen. Head next door to Ryder's house and enter the marker out in front of his house (the "R" on the radar) to begin the next mission. ****************************************************************************** Ryder Mission #2 -- Catalyst ****************************************************************************** Ryder will join you on this mission. After the scene, get into the Picador and drive over to where the train has stopped in Las Colinas (the yellow dot on the radar). Kill all four of the gang members around by either running them over or using the weapon of your choice. Then kill the four gang members in the car that just pulled up. Hop onto the train (by going into the red marker). Now you must throw some boxes to Ryder from the moving train. Aim using the left analog and throw using the Circle button. There are enough crates on the train, so don't worry if you miss. You must throw 10 crates to Ryder to continue this mission. Try aiming above Ryder to get him to catch it. This isn't too hard, you should get the hang of it after a couple of throws. To put some power on it, press and hold L1, then release it to throw. After Ryder has 10 crates, you will get back in the Picador and have a Three Star wanted level! Go quickly to the nearest pay-n-spray (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar) to get rid of the stars. Now drive back to Ganton (the yellow dot on the radar) and enter the red marker to complete this mission. ============================ Reward: Respect+ Percentage Complete: 11.76% ============================ Head back to your savehouse in Ganton and save your game. Be sure to grab weapons from your kitchen (especially Molotov Cocktails) before starting the next mission. When you are ready, head next door and enter the red marker outside of Ryder's house (the "R" on the radar) to begin the next mission. ****************************************************************************** Ryder Mission #3 -- Robbing Uncle Sam ****************************************************************************** After the scene, get into the Mule (truck) parked out front and drive over to the Ocean Docks (indicated by the yellow dot). Pull into the red marker once there and a scene will play. Approach the wall and throw a Molotov Cocktail over the right side of gate where the jeep went into (you can see a guard standing there). If any other guard comes after you, throw another Molotov Cocktail to take care of him. Once the guards have been taken out, hop the wall and shoot the switch next to the gate (manually aim) to open it. Follow alongside Ryder and shoot any guards that you see along the way (there shouldn't be more then two). Approach the building that Ryder is parked outside of and shoot the keypad to the right of the door to open it (again manually aim). Kill the two guards upon entering the warehouse. Get on the forklift and drive up to one of the boxes on the floor in front of you. Like the game says, get underneath one of the boxes and hold up on the RIGHT analog to lift the box. Now carry it over to the van and load it onto the van (make sure that the box is raised high enough to make it into the back of the van). After loading each box, a couple of guards will show up. Kill them, then get back into the forklift and get the next box. If you hear Ryder shooting, then help him out by killing the guard he is shooting at. Load the other three boxes that are on the ground, then get two more boxes on the ground outside of the warehouse (to the north of the van). If you are having trouble, try anticipating when the guards will come out (about every minute or so, one shows up). Try getting a box onto the forklift, wait for a guard and kill him. Then load that box onto the van, wait for a guard and kill. Repeat this process and this mission will be a breeze. After getting six boxes, get into the Mule and head back to Emmet's place in Willowfield (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar). Along the way, you will be pursued by the National Guard in Patriots. Hit the L3 button and Ryder will toss a box full of explosives out the back and hit whatever is behind you. So wait until a Patriot is behind you and let them have it! To complete this mission, head into the red marker at Emmet's place. ============================ Reward: Respect+ Percentage Complete: 12.30% ============================ Head back to your safehouse in Ganton and save your game. Now it is time to do another story mission. Head to where the only available mission is (Big Smoke's House in Idlewood, indicated by the "BS" icon on the radar) and enter the red marker to begin. ****************************************************************************** Big Smoke Mission #1 -- OG Loc ****************************************************************************** Big Smoke and Sweet join you on this mission, as well as OG Loc a little bit into the mission. After the scene, drive over to the Police Station in Pershing Square (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar) and drive into the red marker out in front of the station. After the scene, drive all the way to Freddy's house in East Los Santos (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar) and pull into the red marker here. After the next scene, follow OG up the stairs to the house and walk into the red marker. After another scene, you will have to pursue Freddy on a motorcycle. Don't worry about killing Freddy while on the bike, instead, concentrate on staying on Freddy's tail. Freddy takes the same path every time, so if you are having trouble with this mission, learning the route will make it a little easier. Keep following him until he stops (back in East Los Santos). Take Freddy out as well as the other gang members (should be easy if you have an AK-47 or Tec-9) on the stairs. Afterwards, get into a car (or on a bike and make sure OG is with you) and head over to the Burger Shot in Marina (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar). Pull into the red marker to complete the mission. ============================ Reward: Respect+ Percentage Complete: 12.83% ============================ By completing this mission, a new mission location will open up at the Burger Shot you ended the mission at. This is the OG Loc set of missions (the "OG" icon on the radar). For now though, head back to your safehouse in Ganton and save your game. Grab the Tec-9 from your kitchen. When you are ready, go back to Big Smoke's house (the "BS" icon on the radar) and enter the red marker to begin the next mission. ****************************************************************************** Big Smoke Mission #2 -- Running Dog ****************************************************************************** Big Smoke will join you on this mission. After the scene, get in the Glendale and head over to East Los Santos (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar). Pull into the red marker. After the scenes, sprint after the Vagos (the red dot on the radar). When you get close to him, use the Tec-9 to shoot him (since you can shoot it while running). Kill him to complete this mission (easy huh?). ============================ Reward: Respect+ Percentage Complete: 13.37% ============================ Afterwards, head back to your safehouse in Ganton and save your game, there is a tough mission coming up. When you are ready, head back to Big Smoke's house (the "BS" icon on the radar) and enter the red marker to begin the next mission. ****************************************************************************** Big Smoke Mission #3 -- Wrong Side of the Tracks ****************************************************************************** Big Smoke will accompany you on this mission. After the scene, drive over to Unity Station (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar) and into the red marker. After the scene, get onto the Sanchez (make sure Big Smoke gets on as well) and follow the train east. Once you catch up to it, pull up on the right side of the train and when you pull up alongside of the Mexicans, Big Smoke will shoot at them. Keep your distance from the front of the train in case there are any cars on the tracks (to avoid the explosion). This happened to me after the first bend, I'm not sure if its in the same spot each time. If there is an oncoming train, just go to the right of that to avoid getting hit (Big Smoke will yell out if there is one coming). I was able to kill all three Mexicans before getting to Fisher's Lagoon, but if you happen to reach there, at one point Big Smoke will tell you to take the high road when exiting the tunnel, so go ahead and take it (it is to the right). If you don't kill the Mexicans by the time the train gets to the highway you will fail the mission and have to start over. Just drive steady and hope that Big Smoke has a straight enough shot to kill them. After killing all of them, drive all the way back to Big Smoke's house (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar). I recommend backtracking on the railroad tracks (that would be the fastest route). Drive into the red marker at Big Smoke's house to complete this mission. ============================ Reward: Respect+ Percentage Complete: 13.90% ============================ Afterwards, head back to your safehouse in Ganton and save your game. There is another tough mission coming up, be sure to grab some weapons from your kitchen, namely the AK-47 and Tec-9. When you are ready, head back to Big Smoke's house (the "BS" icon on the radar) and enter the red marker to begin Big Smoke's Final Mission. ****************************************************************************** Big Smoke Mission #4 -- Just Business ****************************************************************************** Big Smoke will accompany you on this mission. After the scene, drive to Commerce (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar) and enter the red marker. Now you will be smack dab in the middle of a shootout! Just keep low and use auto-aim to blast away anybody and everybody that shoots at you. The objective is to keep Big Smoke alive while killing everyone else. Note that these enemies will drop MP5's, so pick one up since it is better then your Tec-9. Just continue killing everybody inside and Big Smoke will head outside when everybody is dead, so follow him out (be sure to grab the Body Armor on the lower level if you need it). Switch to your AK-47 when outside and kill everybody out here. After killing everyone, you and Big Smoke will hop onto a bike. Now you will have no control over the steering of the bike (Big Smoke will) and you must keep the bike health bar from reaching zero. Use the Right Analog Stick to control where you aim and shoot using the Circle button. Shoot at all of the other motorcycles (aim for gas tanks or tires to make it easier). When you reach the roadblock, shoot at the gas tank on the middle car to clear the roadblock, then take out the two men to the left of the roadblock (next to the car). As you go through the flood control, take out any motorcycles and cars that pursue you (don't worry about the truck that comes along). More motorcycles will come after you after leaving the flood control. Just keep shooting anybody that comes after you and eventually you will come to a stop at East Beach. This will complete the mission. *Phew* ============================ Reward: Respect+ Percentage Complete: 14.44% ============================ That's it for Big Smoke's missions. Head over to your safehouse near the pier in Santa Maria Beach and save your game (this safehouse is closest to the next mission). When you are ready, head over to the Burger Shot in Marina (the "OG" icon on the radar) and enter the red marker around back to begin the next mission. NOTE: You can only begin this mission between the hours of 10:00 pm and 6:00 am (22:00 to 06:00). ****************************************************************************** OG Loc Mission #1 -- Life's a Beach ****************************************************************************** After the scene, steal a car and drive over to the beach party at Santa Maria Beach (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar). Be sure not to hit anybody or you will fail the mission. Walk into the red marker to continue the mission. During the conversation, hit right on the D-Pad both times the DJ asks you a question and you will enter a dancing competition. This works much like the Lowrider Competition that was in the "Cesar Vialpando" mission except you will be hitting buttons instead of moving the joystick. Just like with the Lowrider competition, hit the buttons along with the beat. To continue the mission, score 4000 points or more. Afterwards, respond positively (right on the D-Pad) and then enter the van. Drive away (ditching the DJ, everyone will shoot at you) and head over to a storage garage in Commerce (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar). Pull into the red marker in front of the garage to complete this mission. ============================ Reward: Respect+ Percentage Complete: 14.97% ============================ After the mission, head back to your safehouse in Santa Maria Beach and save your game. Then head back over to the Burger Shot in Marina (the "OG" icon on the radar) and enter the red marker to begin the next mission. ****************************************************************************** OG Loc Mission #2 -- Madd Dogg's Rhymes ****************************************************************************** After the scene, head over to Madd Dogg's mansion in Mulholland (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar). Head over to the back door and walk into the yellow marker to enter the mansion. Now you will be introduced to stealth. Sneak up behind the first guard and hold R1 to target him, then get close to him and press the Circle button to do a stealth kill. Go down the hallway to enter the pool area. Notice the guards movements and sneak behind him and perform another stealth kill. Its easier to hide in the dark corner to the left and wait for him to pass you to kill him. Or just go the right and around the pool and eventually get behind the guard. Head through the next door and another guard will approach. Go into first doorway to the left (where it is dark) to hideout and wait for the guard to pass by, then perform another stealth kill. Continue up and through the hallway, then through the door to the left. Continue down the hallway and you will reach a room with a bar. Crouch (L3) and walk across the bar to keep out of the bartenders line of sight. Then continue crouching through the next room with the TV (you can perform a stealth kill on the guard on the couch if you want). Continue through the next hallway (around two bends to the right), grab some body armor from the room on the left if you need it and continue through the room with the body armor (there is a painting on the wall opposite the doorway). Look to the right to see another guard facing the other direction. Sneak up behind him and perform another stealth kill. Now grab the rhyme book in the next room. Head back into the room with the body armor and you will see another guard in the other doorway facing the opposite direction. Perform a stealth kill on him and grab his Silenced 9mm. Continue through the hallway and shoot the guard that is standing in the next doorway (you are going out the same way you came in). Kill the guy on the couch and the bartender (if you didn't before, or crouch again and sneak past them). Then kill the next guy around the corner and the guy in the pool room using the Silenced 9mm. Then exit through the door you used to get into the mansion. Now head back to the Burger Shot in Marina (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar). You can take the Mountain Bike that is in front of you, or you can steal a car and drive there. In any case, enter the red marker to complete the mission. ============================ Reward: Respect+ Percentage Complete: 15.51% ============================ Afterwards, you will receive a call from Officer Tenpenny (hit L1 to answer the phone) and a new mission location will be opened up, the "C.R.A.S.H." mission location (indicated by the "C" on the radar) at the donut shop in Market. For now, head back to your safehouse in Santa Maria Beach and save your game, there are more missions to do for OG Loc. When you are ready, head over to the Burger Shot in Marina (the "OG" icon on the radar) and enter the red marker to begin the next mission. ****************************************************************************** OG Loc Mission #3 -- Management Issues ****************************************************************************** After the scene, get in the car and drive over to Madd Dogg's managers' driver (indicated by the red dot on the radar, should be near the Burger Shot in Temple). Once you find the driver, ram into the car and cause enough damage for him to get out of the car and start shooting at you. Run him over and kill him (or get out and shoot him), then steal his car. Take it over to the pay-n-spray in Temple to get the car fixed. !!!NOTE!!!: You have until 10 pm (22:00) to get the drivers' car over to the pickup spot, otherwise you will fail this mission. Once the car is fixed, drive over to the pickup spot a few blocks away (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar). Make sure not to hit anything on the way there or you will have to return to the pay-n-spray. Once you reach the location, make sure to park in the same direction as the other cars and do not hit them. Park in the red marker to continue the mission. After the sequence, you must stay in between the other two cars as you head towards the awards show (a couple of block away, straight ahead). Once you get there, another scene will play. Afterwards, head over to the Verona Beach pier (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar) while dodging the pursuing cars along the way. Once you reach the pier, drive full speed towards the end of the pier and when you are just about to reach the end, bail out of the car (Triangle button). Kill the four guys that came out of the car behind you, then either take their car or take the BMX Bike nearby and head back to the other end of the pier. If any of the security vehicles are still pursuing you, take them out as well (they will be the red dots on the radar). Once all of them are dead, you will complete this mission. ============================ Reward: Respect+ Percentage Complete: 16.04% ============================ Afterwards, head back to your safehouse in Santa Maria Beach and save your game if you want to, then head back to the Burger Shot in Marina (the "OG" icon on the radar) and enter the red marker to begin the last of OG Loc's missions. I suggest having weapons for this next mission, so either head back to Carl's house in Ganton to pick some up or check the Weapon Locations section of this walkthrough for other weapon locations. Also, Body Armor may not be a bad idea, so be sure to get some (check the Armor Locations section of this walkthrough for locations). ****************************************************************************** OG Loc Mission #4 -- House Party ****************************************************************************** After the scene, head over to the Barber Shop across the street and get a new haircut (for a list of how much respect/sex appeal you will recieve, check out the Barbers section of this walkthrough, in Non-Required Odd Jobs) if you need it (it isn't required). Next, if you need/want new clothes, head over to the ProLaps in Rodeo (check out the Clothing Stores section of this walkthrough for a complete list of what you can buy). When you are ready, head over to the house party at OG's house in Ganton (indicated by the "OG" icon on the radar). You have until 5 am (05:00) to get there. Once there, head into the red marker to continue this mission. After the scenes, you will be put into another wild gunfight. Use whatever weapons you have to take down all of the rival gang members. The first wave consists of eight ballas. Feel free to use cars as cover and just fire away! After the first wave has been defeated, four more appear on the bridge above you. Again, use whatever weapons you have to take them out. Afterwards, you will have to deal with a total of twelve more Ballas. Most of them come from the alleyway. Just keep running and gunning until all of them are dead. Hopefully, you got Body Armor beforehand, because that really helps in this mission. When all of the Ballas are dead, a scene will play and the mission will be completed. ============================ Reward: Respect+ Percentage Complete: 16.58% ============================ After the mission, save your game at your safehouse nearby in Ganton. Now, it's time to take a short break from the story missions and do another Odd Job (this could have been done since the beginning of the game). If you have a Cycling skill of about 75% or more (pause the game and look at Stats --> Player to see what % your Cycling stat is at), you should be able to complete the next Odd Job pretty easily. If not, find a bike and just move around with it to gain skill. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BMX Challenge ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ To begin this Odd Job, head over to the skate park that is south of Glen Park (the park itself) and west of the Hospital in Jefferson. Head to the northeast section of the skate park and hop on the BMX Bike that is located near a half-pipe to begin this mission. Now you must collect 19 checkpoints scattered throughout the skate park (in any order). You start with 10 seconds with an additional 10 seconds added each time you get a checkpoints. Some are located above your head, use a bunny hop (hold, then release L1) to collect those. My advice is to collect the ones on the ground first before getting the tougher ones that are in the air. Having a high Cycling skill will really help here, as the higher the skill level, the higher you can bunny hop. To complete this mission, collect all 19 checkpoints before time runs out. ============================ Reward: None Percentage Complete: 17.11% ============================ Afterwards, head back to your safehouse in Santa Maria Beach and save your game. Now, it's time to get back to the story missions. When you are ready, head over to the Donut Shop in Market (the "C" icon on the radar) and enter the red marker out front to begin the next mission. ****************************************************************************** C.R.A.S.H. Mission #1 -- Burning Desire ****************************************************************************** After the scene, head over to Downtown Los Santos (indicated by the green dot/arrow on the radar). Once there, grab the Molotov Cocktails in the alleyway. Now drive over to a gang house in East Los Santos (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar). Once there, kill some of the gang members hanging around outside. Now you must toss a Molotov Cocktail through five different windows (each indicated by a red dot on the radar) that each have a red arrow above them. Hopefully you did the firetruck mission so that you are fireproof and not vulernable to taking any damage while doing this. If not, toss the Molotov's from a distance so that you don't suffer any damage. If you run out of Molotov's, more will appear nearby (just go to the green dot on the radar). Once you have done that, you must save the girl inside of the house. Run around to the front door (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar) and enter the building. Once inside, run all the way to the back (and left), then go up the stairs. Run up to the last door on the left and a scene will play. Now head back downstairs and into the kitchen (left from the bottom of the stairs). Grab the fire extinguisher and head back to the girl's room. Use the fire extinguisher on the flame in the doorway and approach the woman to trigger another scene. Head into the room across the hall. Use the fire extinguisher to put put the flames in the doorway in the next room and continue through. Head into the hallway and put of the flames here, then continue downstairs. Put out the flames in the doorway to the left (leading to the kitchen), then continue through the next room and hallway (basically heading straight), putting out one more set of flames and finally exit the building through the front door (make sure the girl is behind you). After the scene, get into a car (making sure the girl is with you) and drive the girl to her house in Ganton (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar). Drive into the red marker in front of her house to complete this mission. ======================================= Reward: Denise becomes your Girlfriend Percentage Complete: 17.65% ======================================= Afterwards, you will recieve a phone call from Sweet (Hit L1 to answer the phone). This will unlock the second set of Sweet's missions (the "S" icon on the radar, at the Ammu-Nation in Market). Also, completing this mission unlocks the Girlfriends Odd Job. Denise is now your girlfriend, so you can take her out on a date (as well as a few other girls). See the Girlfriends section of the Non-Required Odd Jobs section for a full explanation on this Odd Job (you can get 100% with Denise now). For now, head back to your safehouse in Santa Maria Beach and save your game. Pick up some weapons if you need some and some Body Armor as well (refer to the Locations section of this walkthrough). This should become a regular habit. When you are ready, head back to the donut shop in Market (the "C" icon on the radar) and enter the red marker out front to begin the next mission. ****************************************************************************** C.R.A.S.H. Mission #2 -- Gray Imports ****************************************************************************** After the scene, head over to the Ocean Docks (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar) and pull into the red marker. Head a little bit south from there to the railroad tracks. Go into the building on the west side of the road. You can find body armor in one of the boxcars in here. Head out the west side of the building and turn to the right. Take out the guard near the garage with a gun (preferrably the AK-47) and then any other guards who come after you. Go towards the yellow dot on the radar (notice more body armor to the right (east) of the dot. Shoot the keypad that is just left of the garage door to open the door. Take out the three guards in here and head into the building. Keep following the path, taking out guards along the way. There is a health icon behind some boxes in the far north part of the building, if you need it. In the open area, there are seven more guys to kill (three up above). After killing everyone, go up the stairs (killing anyone left) and enter the room straight ahead. One of the Russians will run off. Follow him through the complex and eventually (if you don't kill him by then) he will get into a Banshee and drive into the flood control area. Hop on the PCJ-600 (motorcycle) nearby and chase him through the flood control area. Get behind him and keep shooting with either a Tec-9 or MP5 (the enemies in this mission have them, just pick one up after killing them) until the car explodes. Killing the Russian will complete this mission. ============================ Reward: None Percentage Complete: 18.18% ============================ After the mission, head back to your safehouse either in El Corona or Santa Maria Beach and save your game. As usual, make sure you have body armor and weapons (check the Locations section of this walkthrough), then head over to the Ammu-Nation in Downtown Los Santos (the "S" icon on the radar) and enter the red marker out front to begin the next mission. ****************************************************************************** Sweet Mission #8 -- Doberman ****************************************************************************** This mission provides and introduction into gang wars (which is covered in the Odd Jobs section of this walkthrough). If you need a weapon, head into the Ammu-Nation to buy some (or check out the Weapons section in the Locations section of this walkthrough). Here is a list of what you can buy inside (walk into the red marker in front of the counter): ***************** ***Ammu-Nation*** ***************** Item Price ==== ===== 9mm $200 Silenced 9mm $600 Tec-9 $300 Micro SMG $500 Shotgun $600 Sawn-Off Shotgun $800 Grenades $300 Body Armor $200 SMG $2000 When you are ready, head over to Glen Park (the purple box on the map, the green man icon on the radar). Once you enter the area, you have to start a gang war. To do this, run around (you have to be on foot for this to work) and kill any rival gang member that you see. After killing three, a gang war will begin (it will say "you have provoked a gang war"). If you happen to get a wanted level, head to the bridge in the north part of the park and you should see a police bribe under the bridge. Now, in order to win the territory, you must kill three waves of rival gang members. Keep you eyes peeled for health and armor icons that will appear in alleyways and streets. The rival gang members will be dots on the radar. They get tougher and more in number as you go through the waves. If you are struggling, look for areas to take cover, such as backyards or fences. Some of these guys also drop a lot of money, so be sure to pick all of it up. For the first wave, I faced 4 guys with baseball bats (took them out easily). For the second wave, I faced 4 guys with pistols and for the third, I faced 4 guys with Tec-9's. Getting Body Armor beforehand really helped out (I ended up with full health at the end because of the body armor). After the third wave is dead, the territory belongs to you (the Grove Street Families). You will then get an on-screen explanation of gang warfare. Afterwards, a gang member will run out of a house (indicated by the red dot on the radar). Chase after him and kill him (and anyone else who shoots at you) to complete this mission. ============================ Reward: Respect+ Percentage Complete: 18.72% ============================ Afterwards, note that the "S" icon on the radar has moved back to Sweet's house in Ganton and that colored boxes appear all over the radar. These are part of the Gang Wars, check out the Non-Required Odd Jobs section for more details. This is a good way to make money. Carl's house in Ganton is now an asset and will generate money daily (check in front of the garage) based upon how many territories you control. You also earn respect for taking territories. Before moving on to the next mission, your respect has to be up to about 10%, so take over some territories if you need the respect. Now would be a good time to purchase the rest of the safehouses in Los Santos (if you haven't already). If you need money, there are plenty of ways to obtain it. You could do more taxi missions, take over territories and collect the money in front of Carl's house, collect money from Roboi's Food Mart or you could bet on the horses at the Inside Track Betting place in Downtown Los Santos. When you have at least $150,000 you will have enough to purchase the rest of the safehouses in Los Santos. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Safehouse Purchasing (3,4,5 and 6) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Safehouse #3: This house is located just southeast of Emmet's place in Willowfield (also directly west from Loco Low's Mod Shop). It's a pretty crummy house and doesn't even have a garage, but it does count towards 100% completion of the game, so we gotta buy it. It costs $10,000. Safehouse #4: This house is located in Jefferson, a little bit to the southeast of Glen Park and south of the SubUrban (Clothing Store) in Jefferson. It costs another $10,000 and has no garage. Safehouse #5: This house is located in Mulholland, north of the Vinewood sign. It costs $120,000 and has a garage. Safehouse #6: This apartment is located in Verona Beach, just east of the Burger Shot where the OG Loc missions began. It costs $10,000 and has no garage. Well, that's all of the safehouses in Los Santos for now. ============================ Percentage Complete: 20.86% ============================ Now, we are ready to continue the main story missions. Head back to your safehouse in Ganton and save your game. Make sure you have at least about 10% Respect (hit L1 to check) before continuing. Pick up some weapons and body armor (refer to the Locations section of this walkthrough) if you need them and when you are ready, head over to Sweet's house (indicated by the "S" icon on the radar) and enter the red marker out front to begin the next mission. !!!NOTE!!! You can only begin this mission between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm (09:00 and 17:00). ****************************************************************************** Sweet Mission #9 -- Los Sepulcros ****************************************************************************** After the scene, recruit the two gang members standing nearby (with blue arrows over their heads). To recruit them, approach the gang member and target him by pressing and holding R1. While targeting him, hit Up (or Down) on the D-Pad to recruit him. He will now follow you around and shoot at your enemies. After recruiting them, hop into the Greenwood and drive over to the cemetary in Vinewood (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar). You have a time limit of 4 minutes to get there. This is plenty of time, so take your time and try to minimize the number of cars you hit along the way. Once there, pull into the red marker to continue this mission. Hop over the wall and approach Sweet to trigger a conversation. After the scene, start heading across the cemetary (hit Up on the D-Pad to get your gang members to follow you) and gun down any Ballas that get in your way. Head towards Kane (indicated by the red dot on the radar, and a red arrow over his head) and kill him to trigger the next part of this mission. Now kill the remaining Ballas (red dots on the radar and red arrows above their heads) and get into the Admiral that Sweet got (indicated by the blue dot on the radar). Head to the pay-n-spray that is northeast of the cemetary to get rid of the two star wanted level, then go back to Sweet's house (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar) and pull into the red marker to complete this mission. ============================ Reward: Respect+ Percentage Complete: 21.39% ============================ Save at your safehouse in Ganton if you want, then head back to Sweet's house and enter the red marker out front to begin the next mission. ****************************************************************************** Sweet Mission #10 -- Reuniting the Families ****************************************************************************** After the scene, get into the Greenwood and drive over to the Jefferson Hotel (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar) and pull into the red marker out front. After the scene, head inside of the hotel (the yellow dot on the radar and there is a yellow arrow in front of the door on the ground level). You can shoot some cops outside before heading in, but it isn't necessary. You need to go in the hotel to continue the mission. Once inside, head up the stairs to the left and CJ will talk to the gang member. Continue up the stairs and along the walkway to the next room, taking out SWAT members along the way. Go through the hallway (kill another SWAT member) and turn the corner. You will see three SWAT members in front of you. Kill all of them, then continue through the hallway. Once you reach the end of the hallway, two more SWAT members will drop down through the ceiling (to the left). Kill them, then head up the stairs to the left to pick up some body armor (if you need it). Then head back down the stairs and continue down the next hallway. Kill more SWAT members here, then continue on. Continue down to the end and kill more SWAT members in here and down the next hallway as well. You should be near the blue dot on the radar (Sweet) now. Head towards it, you will find him in the second room on the right in this hallway (watch out for a couple more SWAT members). Approach him to trigger a sequence and the next part to this mission. After the scenes, shoot and kill the four guys up in the helicopter (just aim and shoot), then shoot at the helicopter until it goes down. Now you must follow Sweet (indicated by the blue dot on the radar) down the stairs to trigger another scene. Now you will be in a car with Big Smoke driving. You must shoot at all of the cop cars that pursue you. Just keep shooting at any police car that you see, use the left analog to rotate your view and use the Circle button to shoot (this is similar to Big Smoke's "Just Business" mission). Eventually, police motorcycles will join the pursuit, just deal with them like you did in Big Smoke's "Just Business" mission. Soon after, you will reach a roadblock. Carl will run out of ammo here (you have finished the mission at this point), so there is nothing you can do except kick back and watch the exciting finale to this mission. After the scenes, you will have completed this mission. ============================ Reward: Respect+ Percentage Complete: 21.93% ============================ Head back to Carl's house in Ganton to save your game, then pick up some weapons and body armor if you need it (refer to the Locations section of this walkthrough). When you are ready, head over to Sweet's house (indicated by the "S" icon on the radar) and enter the red marker out front to begin the final mission in Los Santos (for now, anyway). ****************************************************************************** Sweet Mission #11 -- The Green Sabre ****************************************************************************** After the scenes, head over to meet Cesar in Verdant Bluffs under the freeway (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar) and pull into the red marker once there. Get out of the car and run into the nearby alleyway. Enter the Bravura (has a blue arrow over it) to meet with Cesar. After the scene, get into a car and head over to the Mulholland Intersection (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar) as fast as you can. Note Sweet's health bar in the upper right. If that depletes, you will fail this mission. Once there, drive into the red marker to trigger a scene. Now kill all of the Ballas in the area (they are indicated by red dots on the radar) and more will pull up in a van. Kill them as well as blow up the car with Ballas in it (doing a drive-by). Once they are all dead, another sequence will play and this mission will be complete. ============================ Reward: Respect+ Percentage Complete: 22.46% ============================ After the scenes, you will wind up in Angel Pine with just a Camera. This now ends the Los Santos section of this walkthrough and you will now have a large area to explore. You are also free to head back to Los Santos if you want. Head over to the trailer park in Angel Pine (indicated by the "C" icon on the radar) and you will find a save disk outside. Save your game, then enter the red marker nearby to begin the first mission in the Badlands. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ IV. Badlands Walkthrough ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Badlands Table Of Contents ========================== (SM = Story Mission, OJ = Odd Job) !!!NOTE!!! To go directly to a section listed below, hit Ctrl+F, then copy and paste the title of the mission that you want to go to. For example, hit Ctrl+F and enter in C.R.A.S.H. Mission #3 -- Badlands by copying and pasting, then hit "Find Next" and you will be able to go right to the section. *** 39) C.R.A.S.H. Mission #3 -- Badlands +++ 40) Chiliad Challenge +++ 41) Safehouse Purchasing (7) *** 42) Catalina Mission #1 -- First Date *** 43) Catalina Mission #2 -- Tanker Commander +++ 44) Vehicle Mission #5 -- Trucking (Part One) *** 45) The Truth Mission #1 -- Body Harvest ****************************************************************************** C.R.A.S.H. Mission #3 -- Badlands ****************************************************************************** Head towards where the witness is (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar). As you go along, the game provides you with a short tutorial (read the boxes that appear in the upper right) on how to use a Camera. You can buy some weapons from the Ammu-Nation in Angel Pine if you need some. You can also find a Tec-9 behind the easternmost trailer in the trailer park. Also, you can find some body armor in the town as well. Here are directions to it: from the Ammu-Nation in Angel Pine, head west on the road and make the first right (north). Make the next right (right after the road bends left) and you should see a restaurant on the right (east) side of the road, on the corner. Check behind the restaurant to find the body armor. Once you reach the red marker just outside of town, you must make your way up the mountain using the dirt roads and switch-backs that are going up the mountain. When you see another dirt road going up to the right, continue on the dirt road heading left and make your way around the mountain until you finally reach a cabin (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar). Approach the area and sneak around behind the cabin. You will find the witness here, heading towards the car that is parked there. Quickly kill him, then any FBI Agents in the area. Now photograph the body of the witness (hold R1 and hit Circle to snap the photo), make sure you get the whole body in the photo. Now head back to the trailer park in Angel Pine (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar) and walk into the red marker to complete this mission. ============================ Reward: Respect+ Percentage Complete: 22.99% ============================ Afterwards, you will recieve a phone call from Cesar (hit L1 to answer). This will unlock the next mission, located in Dillimore, indicated by the "?" icon on the radar. But now, lets take a break from the story missions. You will also get a call from Sweet. There is a new side mission to do at the moment, that is the Chiliad Challenge. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Chiliad Challenge ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ In order to begin this challenge, you must have your cycling skill over 40%. You should easily have well over 40% by now, if you completed the BMX Challenge in Los Santos. To begin this side mission, hop onto the Mountain Bike that is located at the very top of Mount Chiliad, just west of Angel Pine. !!!NOTE!!! You can only begin this challenge between the hours of 7 am and 6 pm (07:00 and 18:00). There are three races in the Chiliad Challenge. You will be racing against other competitors. Finish first in each race to move on to the next. When you finish first in the third race, the mission will be complete. Also, if that Tec-9 is starting to look really good and you feel like taking out the competition, well think twice, because you will fail this mission if you try to kill your opponents. ***************************************** ***Race #1: Scotch Bonnet Yellow Route*** ***************************************** You will be up against 5 other competitors in this race. This route winds its way down the mountainside, using the many switchbacks on the trail. There are a few straightaways where you can pedal much faster and lose the competition. Try not to cut the corners, just be patient and use the straightaways to get ahead. Use R1 on the turns for easier cornering. This may take a few tries, so if you are having trouble, try memorizing the route so that you can anticipate the tough turns as well as where the straightaways are and you should be fine. Finish first in this race to move on. ======================== Reward: Unlocks Race #2 ======================== Afterwards, head back to Angel Pine and save at the trailer park if you want, then make the trek back up the mountain and hop on the Mountain Bike at the top to begin the second race in this challenge. ************************************ ***Race #2: Birdseye Winder Route*** ************************************ Did you think that first race was difficult? Well, that was just the beginning. And, guess what, it doesn't get any easier. This race begins the same as the first one until the sixth checkpoint, when you take a new path. There are quite a few sharp turns in this race, so just like before, take the turns slowly and carefully to avoid falling down the mountain. Towards the end of the race, there will be a fairly long straightaway with gentle curves, so that is the time to either make up lost ground or catch up to everyone. Again, finish the race in first place to move on to the final race. ======================== Reward: Unlocks Race #3 ======================== Again, save in Angel Pine if you want, then head back to the top of the mountain and hop on the Mountain Bike to begin the final race in the challenge. ************************ ***Race #3: Cobra Run*** ************************ You will be up against only two competitors for this one. The first half of this race is brutal. It starts with a nasty jump (go as slow as possible), then you must navigate a very narrow boardwalk. You will have to use the brake often. If you fall off of the board, you might be able to get some of the checkpoints on the board by bunny hopping. Take it slow and steady. After you get off of the boardwalk, the next few checkpoints can be fairly difficult to get because they involve jumps. Again, take those somewhat slow, so that you can make sure you stay on the bike. The rest of the race is much easier to navigate. For the most part, it is pretty much straight and downhill, so give it all you got to the finish line! Finish in first place to complete this mission (and breathe a sigh of relief). ============================== Reward: Percentage Completion Percentage Complete: 23.53% ============================== Afterwards, head back to your the trailer park in Angel Pine and save your game. Note that if you go back to the top of Mount Chiliad and hop onto the Mountain Bike, you can replay each of the three races you just did to improve your time, hit the unique stunt jump on Cobra Run, or just practice your cycling skills (if you need it, which you shouldn't at this point). Now, it's time to purchase another safehouse so that we have some place to save in the countryside that is to the north of Los Santos. This is because we will be doing some missions in this area and it will be easier to have a safehouse nearby, rather then drive all the way back to either Los Santos or Angel Pine just to save. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Safehouse Purchasing (7) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Make sure you have at least $10,000 before buying this. If you don't have enough, you can do taxi missions or head back to Los Santos and collect the money from the courier asset. You can also win a lot of money by betting on horses at the Off-Track Betting Place in Montgomery or Downtown Los Santos. Safehouse #7: This is located in Blueberry, which is the town that is just northwest of Dillimore (Dillimore is the town with the "?" icon in it, the next mission location). This is a centrally located safehouse within the Badlands and you can go pretty much anywhere without too long of a trip. This is an apartment complex, you can find the icon where you need to buy it on the second story of the eastern side of the complex. It costs $10,000 and does not have a garage. ============================ Percentage Complete: 24.06% ============================ Save here, then head over to The Welcome Pump in Dillimore (indicated by the "?" on the radar) and enter the red marker out front to begin the next mission. You can get body armor and some weapons if you want (check the Locations section of this walkthrough), but they aren't really necessary for the upcoming missions. The Tec-9 or whatever you used in the last story mission should be enough. ****************************************************************************** Catalina Mission #1 -- First Date ****************************************************************************** This isn't really a mission, just watch the scene, get into a car (or hop on a bike) and listen to the conversation. Soon after, four new missions will unlock, each indicated by a "$" icon on the radar. You can do these missions in any order that you want. One is in Blueberry, one is in Dillimore, one is in Palomino Creek and the other is in Montgomery. I will start with the closest one, in Dillimore because it will unlock another odd job (it will net you some more cash as well). So, head over to the gas station in Dillimore (the closest "$" icon on the radar) and drive into the red marker to begin the next mission. ****************************************************************************** Catalina Mission #2 -- Tanker Commander ****************************************************************************** After the scene, enter the truck in front of you (with the blue arrow over it, indicated by the blue dot on the radar). See that tanker to the left? It now has a blue arrow over it and you must attach it to the back of your truck. Pull in front of the tanker and back up into it (use L2 and R2 to look in the rear view). After that a scene will play and you will be chased by the gas station attendants. Now you must drive to the "RS Haul" Depot in Flint County (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar). You will have a health bar in the upper right, if that gets to zero, you will fail the mission. Just drive steadily, don't try to rush too much or you could inadvertantly disconnect the tanker. Go forward from the gas station (south) and then make a right (west). Follow this road to the end and make a left (south). Follow this road to the end as well and make another left (east). Keep going and cross the bridge and you should eventually see the depot on the left (east) side of the road. Remember to slow down when taking turns so that you don't fishtail. Just keep a nice, steady pace and try to ignore the pursuers and you should be fine. Once at the depot, pull into the red marker to complete this mission. ============================ Reward: $5,000 Percentage Complete: 24.60% ============================ After completing this mission, you will have unlocked the Trucking Odd Job. You will also recieve a phone call (hit L1 to answer) from "The Truth" and a new mission location opens up in Angel Pine (indicated by the "TT" icon on the radar), which is where you must go before completing the rest of the Catalina missions (notice the "$" icons on the radar went away). For now, head back to the safehouse in Blueberry to save if you want, then go back to the RS Haul Depot in Flint County (indicated by the Truck icon on the radar) and enter the red marker outside of the shack to begin the next Odd Job. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Vehicle Mission #5 -- Trucking (Part One) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This works like the mission "Tanker Commander", all you need to do is drive the tanker to a specifc location within a certain time limit. You will also have a damage meter in some of these missions that will subtract money from the total amount the more damage you take. Also, if your cargo becomes disconnected, you will not fail the mission immediately. You will be given 60 seconds to reattach it to your truck. Completing 8 of these missions will give you percentage towards 100% completion of the game. When you are ready, walk into the red marker outside the shack at the RS Haul depot to begin the first mission. ************************* ***Trucking Mission #1*** ************************* For this first mission, you will be given a 2 minute time limit (2 hours in game time) to drive to somewhere at the brewery in Red County (east of Blueberry, indicated by the yellow dot on the radar). Use the same strategy that you used in the "Tanker Commander" mission and you should be fine (look in that section for tips). Be sure to pause your game and check the radar to plan your route. This one is pretty straightforward, just take the road north and you should reach the brewery (it will be on the right side of the road). Pull into the red marker (it will be in a random location within the brewery) to complete this first mission. You will not get deducted in this mission for damage or according to the time at which you arrived. =============== Reward: $1,000 =============== Save at your safehouse in nearby Blueberry if you want, then head back to the RS Haul depot for the next trucking mission. ************************* ***Trucking Mission #2*** ************************* In this one, you will have to drive the truck to Montgomery, which is north of Los Santos. There is no time limit for this, but you will have a damage meter for this mission, so drive very carefully. The lower the damage meter gets, the lower your cash reward will be when you get there. Driving like a maniac will not help here, take it slow and obey all of the laws of traffic. ================================================ Reward: Possible $1,500 (based on damage meter) ================================================ Again, save in Blueberry if you want, then go back to the RS Haul depot and start the next truck mission. ************************* ***Trucking Mission #3*** ************************* You will be given a three-star wanted level for this one (carrying illegal goods). There is no damage meter or time limit for this one, just get the cargo to its destination, which should be in the southeast portion of Los Santos. If any cops try to get in your way, just plow on through, the truck should be able to take care of anything that may get in the way. Just keep moving and you should be fine. =============== Reward: $2,000 =============== Upon completion of this mission, the three-star wanted level will disappear. So, once again, save at your safehouse either in Blueberry or Santa Maria Beach if you want, then head back to the RS Haul depot in Flint County and begin the next trucking mission. ************************* ***Trucking Mission #4*** ************************* No wanted levels or damage meter on this one, it will just be timed. You will have to go to either Angel Pine or Shady Creeks for this one. Stick to the major streets and don't worry about hitting other vehicles to get them out of the way because there is no damage meter. Just drive quickly and slow down to make turns, or you could lose control or even your cargo. You will be given a 5 minute (5 hours in game time) time limit for this one, so plan your route carefully. =============== Reward: $3,000 =============== Again, drive back to Blueberry or Santa Maria Beach and save at your safehouse if you want, then head back to the RS Haul depot for the next trucking mission. ************************* ***Trucking Mission #5*** ************************* This is similar to Trucking Mission #2 in which there is no time limit, only a damage meter. The difference is that you will have to cover a much greater distance than before. You will have to go to somewhere in eastern San Fierro (either Easter Bay Airport, Battery Point or Easter Basin). Like before, just drive steady and obey laws to reduce the amount of damage your truck takes. Plan your route, the best bet is to stay on the road that your starting place is on, it will lead you to eastern San Fierro. There is also a tunnel that branches off about a third of the way there. You can take that as well, that will make the trip a bit quicker. ================================================ Reward: Possible $4,000 (based on damage meter) ================================================ As usual, head back to save in Blueberry or Santa Maria Beach, then go back to the RS Haul depot in Flint County for the next trucking mission. ************************* ***Trucking Mission #6*** ************************* This is similar to Trucking Mission #3, there is no time limit or damage meter, just a three-star wanted level. Handle this one the same way you did #3, stick to the highways and keep moving. You will be heading to a random location. The BradyGames strategy guide says somewhere near Angel Pine, but I had to go to Easter Basin in San Fierro. In any case, completing this mission will net you the full cash reward no matter how long it took and how much damage was caused. =============== Reward: $5,000 =============== ************************* ***Trucking Mission #7*** ************************* You cannot do it at this time, you must have Las Venturas (the third city) unlocked. I will come back to this when we have access to it, later on in the walkthrough. If you already have it unlocked, then check the Desert section of this walkthrough for the remainder of these missions. For now, head back to the trailer park in Angel Pine and save your game. When you are ready, head over to the U Get Inn Motel in Angel Pine (indicated by the "TT" icon on the radar) and walk into the red marker out front to begin the next mission. ****************************************************************************** The Truth Mission #1 -- Body Harvest ****************************************************************************** After the scene, head get in a car or hop on a bike and head over to the entrance to The Farm Cult Location (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar) and stop in the red marker. After the sequence, you will have to steal the combine harvester that is located at the back of the farm (indicated by the blue dot on the radar). The best way to get there is to follow the fence to the right (east) of where you enter. This way, you will mostly avoid combat with the cult members. When you get to the area with the harvester, kill any cult members around here, then get up beside the combine harvester and steal it. Now you must head back to The Truth's farm in Leafy Hollow (indicated by the yellow dot on the radar). Head over to the dirt road to the west and follow the road through the farm (grinding up the cult members along the way). When you get back to the main road to the south, head east and you will eventually see a dirt road on the right (south) side of the road. Take it and follow it to the end and make a right (west). Follow this road and you will reach The Truth's farm. Pull the harvester into the red marker inside of the barn to complete this mission. You will also get a call from Cesar and another mission location will appear on the radar (indicated by the "CV" icon on the radar). ============================ Reward: Respect+ Percentage Complete: 25.13% ============================ Head back to your trailer park in Angel Pine. Save if you want, then enter the red marker nearby to begin the next mission. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< To Be Continued >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ VIII. Non Required Odd Jobs ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ First off, I would like to say thanks again to BradyGames and their wonderful staff for making a fantastic guide. If it weren't for their efforts, I wouldn't have been able to make this guide as detailed as it is. Big thanks to them for coming up with a lot of the values (such as respect) that I will utilize in this section of the walkthrough. Most articles of clothing will boost your respect and sex appeal stats. Clothing makes up 4% of your respect level and 50% of your sex appeal level. Make sure you consider each article of clothing before making a decision on what to where. Note that each save house has a changing room, where you can change different articles of clothing (only the ones you have purchased though). Transfenders Locations ====================== Los Santos: Temple San Fierro: Doherty Las Venturas: Come-A-Lot Just have fun and experiment with all of the different things you can do to each car! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Odd Job #6 -- Lowrider Challenge ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ In order to do this odd job, you must have a lowrider with hydraulics. The lowrider cars in this game are: Blade, Broadway, Remington, Savanna, Slamvan, Tornado and Voodoo. You can usually find a Blade on Cesar's street, (where the "CV" icon is, on the same street as your savehouse in El Corona, south of Unity Station) next door to Cesar. You can also find other lowriders on this street, parked at the houses. You can also use the Savanna that you used in the mission, "Cesar Vialpando". If you find a lowrider that doesn't have hydraulics, just take it to Loco Low's and give it hydraulics for $1500. To begin this odd job, walk into the small red marker in front of a man standing near Unity Station (the east side of the station), answer positively, then drive into the red marker to begin the competition. This is just like the story mission you just did and it is even in the same location. You can also place a wager just like last time. This is a bit tougher though, with more arrows appearing. The key is to focus on the beat of the music and bounce along with the rhythm. If you are struggling, try lowering the wager and it should be easier to win. ======================================== Reward: Double the amount of your wager ======================================== ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Odd Job #7 -- Burglar ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ !!!NOTE!!! In the Strategy Guide, it lists this as a required mission, but when I did it, it did NOT raise my percentage at all, this is why I put it in this section. To begin this Odd Job, you must enter a Black Boxville at night and press the R3 button. There is a Black Boxville in each city. The one in Los Santos is located in Idlewood, across the street from the gym in the neighborhood directly to the south. !!!NOTE!!! You can only begin the job between the hours of 8 pm and 6 am (20:00 to 06:00). Once you have started the job, you must find a house to break into. Search around the neighborhoods to the south and you should find plenty of homes to break into. Anyways, pick a house that you want to rob and exit the Boxville and enter the house. This works just like the "Home Invasion" mission. Look for objects that look like they are worth something and hit Triangle to pick it up. Take the item outside and put it in the Boxville. There are a few things you can steal, such as televisions and stereo equipment. Each house usually has two things to steal in the first room. When you are done burglarizing, get back in the Boxville and drive it back to lockup (just like you did in the previous mission). The mission will end when the timer runs out, anything in the van that has not been taken to the lockup will be lost, so try and head back with around a minute or two to spare. The easiest way to steal the most amount of goods would be to find two houses that are either next to each other or across from each other and just keep going back and forth between the houses, that way you don't have to get in the Boxville and drive around. To complete this odd job steal a total of $10,000 in goods (doesn't have to be all at once). !!!NOTE!!! In the Strategy Guide, it lists this as a required mission, but when I did it, it did NOT raise my percentage at all, this is why I put it in this section. ================================================ Reward: $3000 plus Cash Made From the Robberies ================================================ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Odd Job #8 -- Dancing ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ You were introduced to Dancing in OG Loc's mission, "Life's a Beach". You can begin this Odd Job at any club in San Andreas. There is a club in Los Santos in Idlewood (the Alhambra club near Little Mexico) and one in Queens in San Fierro. Go into the club and walk into the red marker that is on the dance floor. This works just like the "Life's a Beach" mission. Time your hits along with the beat to gain points. You can see your last dance score on the pause menu, under Stats --> Achievements. The better you do, the more challenging the song will get next time. My score was 5820, I am sure you can beat that pretty easily, but I think its a good score. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Odd Job #9 -- Girlfriends ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This is opened up after completing the C.R.A.S.H. mission, "Burning Desire". After which, Denise Robinson becomes your girlfriend. There are also four other girlfriends scattered throughout San Andreas that you can date (plus another one that you meet during another mission, the "Key To Her Heart" mission). With each girlfriend, as you go on dates, you will earn percentage for "Girlfriend Progress" (which can be viewed in the pause menu, under Stats --> Achievements). When you reach 50% with a girl, you will unlock a vehicle where the meeting place is. At 100%, you will get certain rewards (new outfits). Here is a list of each of the six girlfriends you can get and where you can meet them. ================== Meeting Locations ================== Girlfriend Meeting Location ---------- ---------------- Denise Robinson The C.R.A.S.H. mission, "Burning Desire" Michelle Cannes Doherty, San Fierro, at the Driving School near water cooler Helena Wankstein Blueberry, Red County, Ammunation shooting range Barbara Schternvart El Quebrados, Desert, parking lot of Sheriff's station Katie Zahn Avispa Country Club, San Fierro, edge of the golf course Millie Perkins The Heist mission, "Key To Her Heart" To meet each girl (except Denise and Millie), find them (they have blue arrows over them) and walk up to the girl. If she makes a positive comment, respond positively (right on the D-Pad) and you will go out on a date. Each girl has different tastes and you must be in a certain physical condition to go on a date with each girl. You must also have a lot of sex appeal. This means getting the right clothes, haircut and even tattoo (check out these respective sections in this walkthrough for what things will yield what % of sex appeal). These make up 60% of your sex appeal stat. Here is a list of what each girl is looking for. ======================== Girlfriend Requirements ======================== Girlfriend Requirements ---------- ------------ Denise Robinson None (just high Sex Appeal) Michelle Cannes High fat stat (eat a lot of food) Helena Wankstein Average (little fat and about 20% muscle) Barbara Schternvart High fat stat Katie Zahn High muscle stat Millie Perkins None Another thing that will boost sex appeal is what vehicle you step out of when going on the date. This makes up 40% of your sex appeal stat. Any damage to a vehicle will lower the sex appeal. Here is a list of the vehicles that will yield the most sex appeal. Banshee BF Injection Blade Buffalo Bullet Caddy Cheetah Comet Elegy Euros Feltzer Flash Hotknife Infernus Jester Hermes Merit Premier Remington Sentinel Slamvan Stratum Stretch Sultan Super GT Tahoma Uranus Washington Windsor ZR-350 Each girlfriend is only available to date at certain times of the day. Once you meet a girlfriend, you can find her at a Heart icon on the map/radar. You will also get random phone calls from your girlfriend(s), if you keep ignoring a girl, she will break up with you. Here are the times that each girl is available to date. ============= Dating Times ============= Girlfriend Time(s) Available ---------- ----------------- Denise 4 pm to 6 am (16:00 to 06:00) Michelle Midnight to Noon Helena 8 am to Noon and 2 pm to 2 am (08:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 02:00) Barbara 4 pm to 6 am (16:00 to 06:00) Katie Noon to Midnight Millie 2 am to 10 am and 2 pm to 6 pm (02:00 to 10:00 and 14:00 to 18:00) Be sure to pick up flowers before heading out on a date (see the Locations section for flower locations). Hold the flowers and face her and that will help boost the Girlfriend Progress (you can have other gifts to show her, try different things out if you want). There are different things you can do on a date. You could take her to a restaurant, dance club or even just drive around (it will be automatically chosen for you at the start of the date). For a food date, just take her to any restaurant (they appear on the radar as silverware icons) and try not to eat too much food. For a dancing date, just take her to the nearest club (there is one in every major city) and get over 4000 points for a successful date. For a driving date, just simply drive around. Each girl has their own preference on how fast they go, so just try to please them for a successful date. If the girl wants to get a drink, you can go to a bar or any place that sells drinks (they appear as drink glass icons on the radar). If you are making progress with a girl and it says that she will go out on another date (at the end of a date). Go back the next day between the designated times (listed above) to go on another date. If it says that she is not home (or not there), just try again the next day (keep repeating until she is there). To get time to pass faster, just save your game repeatedly, as time will progress 6 hours with each save. Here are the different experiences that I have had on dates with each particular girl (this is a work in progress). !!!NOTE!!! Your percentages may vary depending on many factors such as whether you have neglected her or not (percentage will go down in time if you ignore her). Your experience will also vary depending on what type of date she wants. A successful date will always raise your percentage by 5% (6% if you presented flowers and 7% if you kiss her without her pushing you away). If she invites you in for "coffee", that will raise your percentage by another 5%. ************ ***Denise*** ************ Date #1: Drink Date ------------------- I pulled up in my Blade and presented her with flowers and she requested to go get a drink with me. I took her to the bar that is right down the street from Carl's house (in Ganton). After the scene, I drove her back to her house. I hit another car coming around a corner and she made a comment about her nails...But the date was still a success and she wanted to see me again. ========================== Progress with Denise: 22% ========================== Date #2: Food Date ------------------ Again, I pulled up in my Blade and gave her flowers to start the date. She said she wanted to go somewhere to eat. Again, I took her to the bar down the street from Carl's house (the drink icon in Ganton). I think the fast food places in the area would have worked as well, in case you want some variety in where you go. Again, afterwards I took her back to her house. Another successful date! ========================== Progress with Denise: 28% ========================== Date #3 ------- Same as Date #2 (food date). ========================== Progress with Denise: 34% ========================== Date #4: Dancing Date --------------------- Like before, I pulled up in my Blade and gave her flowers. She requested we go out dancing this time. We went to the only dance club in Los Santos, that is the Alhambra Club in Idlewood (it is marked on the map, almost due west of Denise's house). I scored 8050 points while dancing (I think you only need 4000 or more for a successful date), then I drove her back to her house. She invited me in for "coffee" and, of course, I couldn't refuse (hit right on the D-Pad for a positive response). ========================== Progress with Denise: 45% ========================== Date #5 ------- Same as Date #4 (dancing date), except I kissed her after giving her flowers (raised progress by 1% more). ========================== Progress with Denise: 57% ========================== At this point, she gave me the keys to her car, a Hustler that is parked out in front of her house. Date #6 ------- Same as Date #5 (dancing date). ========================== Progress with Denise: 69% ========================== Date #7 ------- Same as Date #5 (dancing date). ========================== Progress with Denise: 81% ========================== Date #8: Driving Date ---------------------- Again, pulled up in my Blade, gave her flowers and kissed her. She wanted me to take her out driving. I just drove around the area until the fun meter filled up (it didn't take a whole lot to fill it up, just drive around), then drove her home. ========================== Progress with Denise: 93% ========================== Date #9 ------- Same as Date #5 (dancing date). =========================== Progress with Denise: 100% =========================== After getting 100% with Denise, she will buy you an outfit. Go to a safehouse and check out the wardrobe to see that you now have a Pimp Suit (look for it under "Special" in your wardrobe). !!!Note!!! Once you have gotten 100%, the outfit that you recieve will NOT go away if your percentage drops under 100% again (it happens after some time, if you neglect her, even with 100%), so feel free to neglect her as much as you want after getting 100% progress. ************ ***Helena*** ************ !!! Under Construction !!! Here are the different rewards you can recieve by getting a certain percentage of Girlfriend Progress with each girl. =============== Dating Rewards =============== Girlfriend Percentage Reward ---------- ---------- ------ Denise 50% Keys to her car, a Hustler Denise 100% Pimp Suit Michelle 0% Use of her garage (works like a pay-n-spray) Michelle 50% Keys to her car, a Monster Michelle 100% Racing Suit Helena 0% Weapons in the tool shed (flamethrower, chainsaw, pistol and molotov cocktails) and access to her car, a Bandito Helena 50% Keys to her car, a Bandito Helena 100% Rural Clothes Barbara 0% If you get busted, you will get out for free and keep your weapons Barbara 50% Keys to her car, a Ranger Barbara 100% Police Outfit Katie 0% If you get wasted, you will get out for free and keep your weapons Katie 50% Keys to her car, a Romero Katie 100% Hospital Outfit Millie 33% Her Key Card Millie 50% Keys to her car, a Club That's it for this Odd Job, good luck and have fun with it! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Odd Job #10 -- Gang Wars ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ You were introduced to this in Sweet's Mission, "Doberman". This is all about taking over territories which are scattered throughout San Andreas. For tips and strategies on how to take over a territory, check out the main walkthrough and look at the mission called "Doberman". If you pause your game and look at the map, you will see different colored areas. These represent a territory that is control by a gang. The green areas are terriories that you (Grove Street Families) control. To start a war, just go to one of the colored territories (other then green) and kill gang members. This works just like it did in "Doberman". Here is a list of the different gangs and what color they are on the map: Gang Color ==== ===== Ballas Purple Los Santos Vagos Yellow Los Aztecas Varriors Cyan San Fierro Rifa Blue Triads Red Da Nang Thang Brown Mafia Gray You gain more respect each time you take over a territory. Carl's house will also generate more money each day the more territories you take, so be sure to pick up that money as often as you can. Sometimes, your territories will become under attack by rival gang members. At this point, the territory that is under attack will start flashing red on the map and you will have to go and defend it or risk losing territory as well as respect. Note, though, that only territories with rival gang territories next to it, will come under attack. So, to prevent from having to defend territories, take over as many territories as you can. To defend, head over to the area and kill as many gang members as you can (by any means). They will appear as dots on the radar once you are close to the center of the area. You can check your progress (how many territories you have, what percentage of the territories you have, etc.) on the pause menu under Stats --> Gangs. The best weapons to use for this are the AK-47 and MP5. This is because these are great weapons (though, not the best) and the gang members frequently use these, so you will likely never run out of ammo (just keep collecting them after killing the gangsters). If you are having trouble finding enough gang members to start a war, just drive around the area for a little while and be patient, eventually gang members will appear. For the small area around the Jefferson Hotel, I usually find the gansters on the east side of the hotel by the train tracks, so keep looking around that area. Another thing to try if you are having trouble finding people to start a war with is to reload your game and head back to the area you were searching for gangsters. A couple of times, I was searching for gang members to start a war with and couldn't find them for 20 minutes. As soon as I reloaded and went back to the area, I found gang members almost immediately. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< To Be Continued >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ IX. Locations (Weapons, Armor, etc.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ In this section, I will tell you locations of certain things such as weapons and armor that are scattered throughout San Andreas. In order to describe some of these locations, I will use certain landmarks such as gyms, clothing stores, food places, pay-n-sprays, safehouses, barbers and points of interest (such as the Observatory and Santa Maria pier in Los Santos). Also note that a Dildo, Nightstick, Pistol, Body Armor and Shotgun can be found in every police station (make sure you go in unarmed beforehand). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Los Santos Weapon Locations ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ First off, let me state what landmarks I will be basing most of my descriptions off of. First, anything that was introduced in Sweet's missions. These are: Clothing Stores, Barber Shops, Food Places, the Gym, Loco Low's, Transfenders, pay-n-spray's, and Emmet's place. These are all places that can be found on the radar/map (use the legend if you are having trouble finding something). Also, I will use the small towns surrounding Los Santos (such as Blueberry) and I will use landmarks that stick out. These are: the Police Station, Santa Maria Pier, Observatory, Stadium, Airport, Vinewood sign, Glen Park and of course Carl's house. The Badlands is the countryside that is west of Los Santos and south of San Fierro. It is anything (other than San Fierro) that you were not allowed access to in the first section of the game (blocked by bridges and if you made it across, you recieved a four star wanted level). This includes Mount Chiliad, Angel Pine, Flint Range, Leafy Hollow, Beacon Hill and other areas. The starting points for my directions to each location will be Dillimore and Angel Pine. There are also a couple of locations on top of Mount Chiliad. ===== Cane ===== 1) Beacon Hill -- From Dillimore, take the road to the south of Dillimore that is heading west (towards a bay). Make a left (south) when the road ends and then make a right (west) when this road ends. Take the next right, which is an exit ramp leading to a road below and make a left (south) onto that road. Follow this road for a ways until you see a dirt road on the left (east) side of the road. Take the dirt road and go to the top of the hill. Look to the left (north) and you should see two houses. The Cane is next to the westernmost house, on the south side of the house. 2) Flint County -- From Dillimore, take the road to the south of Dillimore that is heading west (towards a bay). Make a left (south) when the road ends and then make another left (east) when that road ends as well. Cross the small bridge and head down the hill and you should see the "RS Haul" depot on the left (east) side of the road. The Cane is located to the right (south) side of the loading bays, near the back wall. ============== Country Rifle ============== 1) Back O' Beyond -- From Angel Pine, take the road to the northwest of Angel Pine and head northeast. Follow it for a long ways and make the first right (south) that you come to. Look for the third grey area on the radar on the left (east) side of the road. You will find the Country Rifle in the center of that grey area, on top of a rocky hill. ============= Desert Eagle ============= 1) Whetstone -- From Angel Pine, take the road to the northwest of Angel Pine and head northeast. Upon leaving the base of Mount Chiliad, look on the left (northwest) side of the road for a construction site. Search the left (west) building on the north side of the construction site for the Desert Eagle. It will be inside the building, at the southwest corner of the building. ================== Fire Extinguisher ================== 1) Whetstone -- Take the freeway that is south of Angel Pine and head east on it. After a short ways, you should see a gas station on the left (north) side of the highway. Search in front of the gas station building for the Fire Extinguisher. ============= Flamethrower ============= 1) Flint County -- From Dillimore, take the road to the south of Dillimore that is heading west (towards a bay). Make a left (south) when the road ends and then make a right (west) when this road ends. Take the next right, which is an exit ramp leading to a road below and make a left (south) onto that road. Right before the railroad tracks (the red line on the radar), you should see a large group of small house on the right (west) side of the road, to the north of the railroad tracks. You will find the Flamethrower in between the first and second houses from the south. 2) Shady Creeks -- Take the dirt road north that is across the street from the trailer park in Angel Pine. Keep following it north for a ways (past another dirt road branching to the right near the beginning of the dirt road). Follow the road (it's hard to see the road itself, just keep an eye on the radar) until you reach a house. You will see another dirt road branching off to the right (east) just north of the house. Follow it across the river and up the hill. Near the top of the hill, search the trees on the left (north) side of the dirt road and you should find the Flamethrower. ========== Golf Club ========== 1) Angel Pine -- From the Cluckin Bell in Angel Pine, head southwest on the road and make a right (northwest) at the end. Follow the road as it curves right (northeast) and check inside the garage of the second house on the left (northwest) side of the road for the Golf Club. ========== Micro-MP5 ========== 1) Angel Pine -- In the trailer park in Angel Pine. Check behind the trailer that is furthest to the east for the Micro-MP5. ========== Parachute ========== 1) Mount Chiliad -- At the summit of Mount Chiliad, you will find the parachute on the west side of the summit, near some rocks (at the west end of the parking area on top, where you can find a Camper and a Journey). ======= Shovel ======= 1) Whetstone -- From Angel Pine, take the road to the northwest of Angel Pine and head northeast. Upon leaving the base of Mount Chiliad, look on the left (northwest) side of the road for a construction site. The Shovel is located in the construction site.
