Final Fantasy X-2: International FAQ Creature Create --------------------------------------- by: Jonrx (Jon Randall) neokenshi99@yahoo.com Version Final Updated: 5:05 PM 3/27/2004 Last added: Final Updates What is your purpose for searching this FAQ? If you are looking for the following you can find it here: -Getting started with Creature Create -Learning how to gain story levels with creatures -Learning how to train creatures -Getting a basic guide as to where to go in the game since you do not understand the Japanese language -Strategies for Major Numerus, Strongest Shinra and all of the other difficult bosses that this game throws at you What is Creature Create? Create Create is a unique attribute to Final Fantasy X-2: International where you are able to search Spira for creatures to capture. Once you've captured one, you are then able to use them in normal combat or in tournament mode, however, you are not able to control their actions, only able to train them to get stronger by learning new abilities and auto-abilities. Where is the Creature Create? the Colosseum? Both the Creature Create and the Colosseum are accessed through talking to Shinra (any Story Level) and choosing the first available option. It will be the only one highlighted (bluish). From here you are able to access several different options, which are: 1. Catching Creatures 2. Training Creatures 3. Analyzing Creatures 4. Creature History 5. Name Change 6. Colosseum 7. Return to the Celsius What does each option do? 1. Catching Creatures Here you are given a screen very similar to the world map with all 15 major locations in Spira. You are able to set different traps called "Pods" which are used to catch the creatures. The pods come in 4 kinds, (S)mall, (M)edium, (L)arge and (SP)ecial. S will capture small creatures while M will capture slightly bigger and L will capture largest. SP is used for a certain species and will also allow for human capturing. When using the creatures in battle, their are several allowable combinations for roster: 1. 3 Small creatures 2. 1 Small creature, 1 Medium creature 3. 1 Large creature This is due to the size of the creatures that have been captured. 2. Training Creatures Here you are given a screen which is exactly the same as the status screen. To train a creature, go to the second to last button (Creature). When here you'll be given 3 options: Feed items, feed accessories, forget a skill. When you feed items your creature can learn a new ability, such as 3 potions may help learn Cure. Feeding accessories helps your creature learn a new auto-ability, such as you might be able to learn Auto-Haste by feeding an Auto-Haste bangle. And the Forget a Skill option is used to take away an ability or auto-ability learned. 3. Analyzing creatures Here you will see all creatures you have currently captured, max of 8. You will be able to read about what story level your creature is currently on and if they have finished a particular story level, you may then choose the option to view their particular ending movie. Some can be quite humurous! You progress through a creatures story levels by means of winning battles with them in your active party. Gain a level of EXP and gain a story level. For this it is best to keep your main characters levels low, such as starting a New Game Plus and leveling up that way since leveling is much easier early on. 4. Creature History Here you able to view the endings for all creatures you have successfully completed their story levels. Humans will appear automatically when captured. 5. Name Change Here you are able to change the name of your creature using either English, Katakana, Hiragana or some Kanji. You are also given the option of letting your creatures escape without raising their levels. 6. Colosseum Here is where all the "magic" happens! You are able to participate in 10 different tournaments in the Colosseum. Each one contains more difficulty than its predicessor. Each one requires a set of prerequisites before you are able to open it up for action. The 10 cups are as follows: 1. Regular Cup 2. Regular Hard Cup 3. Large Cup 4. Large Hard Cup 5. Chocobo Cup 6. Cactuar Cup 7. Youth League Cup 8. Aeon Cup 9. Demon Cup --> Strongest Shinra Cup (Will become) 10. Farplane Cup Each of the above tournaments has special requirements that need to be fulfilled in order to participate. And even several of the cups require special things just to enter! Here goes: 1. Regular Cup Opens as soon as Colosseum is accessed. Entry: Free Requirements: None Grand Prize: Saikikka/Psychicer dress sphere 2. Regular Hard Cup Entry: Free Requirements: Win Regular Cup 3 times. Prizes: Pods or Restorative Items 3. Large Cup Entry: Free Requirements: Win Regular Hard Cup Prizes: Pods or Restorative Items 4. Large Hard Cup Entry: Free Requirements: Win Large Cup 3 times. Grand Prize: Omitsurishi/Festivalgoer dress sphere 5. Chocobo Cup Entry: Must have a chocobo in your active party. Requirements: Win Large Hard Cup Prizes: Pods or Restorative Items 6. Youth League Cup Entry: Free Requirements: Win Large Hard Cup 6 times. Prizes: Pods or Mega-Phoenix ***From here on things start to get tricky!!*** 8. Aeon Cup Entry: Free Requirements: For the Aeon Cup, you must capture and raise the story levels of 8 different creatures. These are "special" creatures because they have no regular story line. They will immediately be available to be released upon capture, however, what we want to do is to raise their story levels through gaining 3 experience levels and then release them. What this will do is effectively raise their only story level and then will change that particular creature into an aeon. The "special" creatures are as follows: a. Yamaitake becomes Valefor Found: Zanarkand Ruins (SL5) ; use S Pod b. Flame Dragon becomes Ifrit Found: Besaid (SL1); use L Pod c. Machina Strike becomes Ixion Found: Besaid (SL5); use L Pod d. White Purin/Flan becomes Shiva Found: Nagi Plains/Calm Lands (SL5); use S Pod e. Azi Dahaka becomes Bahamut Found: Bevelle (SL5); use L Pod f. Critical Bug becomes Yojimbo Found: Bevelle (SL5): use M Pod g. Aranea becomes Anima Found: Bevelle (Story Level 5); use L Pod Requirements: Must have beaten Aranea on floor 20 of Under Bevelle before capturing. h. Jumbo Cactuar Found: Bikanel Island (Story Level 5); use L Pod Requirements: Must have beaten Jumbo Cactuar after bringing back all 10 cactuar guardian in the Cactuar Nation before capturing. Prizes: Pods or Ether Turbo Result Plate: Saigo no Shudan w/ Always Critical, Auto-Haste, Break Damage Limit 9. Demon Cup --> Strongest Shinra Cup Entry: Free Requirements: Same as above, must capture some creatures, but this time they have 3 story levels to complete before releasing them: a. Capture Daeva from Kilika Island using M Pod b. Raise Daeva's story levels and he evolves into Aka Manah c. Raise Aka Manah's story levels and he will evolve into Aeshma d. Raise Aeshma's story levels and he will evolve into Jahi e. Raise Jahi's story levels and you will be given a mission to find the traitor of the "Demon World" f. At this point you have unlocked Tomb for capture. You can find him at Djose with an M Pod. g. Raise story levels and Tomb will vanish. You may now capture Dolmen. h. Capture Dolmen at Mushroom Rock Road; M Pod. i. Raise story levels and Dolmen will vanish. You may now capture Monument. j. Capture Monument at Djose using an M Pod(must have fought Monument at the Farplane first in order to capture). k. Raise Monument's story levels and release. l. At this point you will see all three Tombs appear and release the traitor of the Demon World: Ultima Weapon!! m. Ultima Weapon joins your party. n. Raise Ultima Weapon's story levels and release him. Go to tournament and participate in new entry. Upon defeating Omega Weapon, you will be given a choice as to either accepting Ultima Weapon or Omega into your party. Choose Omega. ***At this point you may access Demon Cup in the tournament mode*** o. Raise Omega Weapon's story levels and release him. ***Demon Cup now becomes Strongest shinra Cup 9(cont'd). Strongest Shinra Cup Entry: Free Requirements: Above... Grand Prize: Strongest Shinra joins your party!!! ***Note: Will return to Demon Cup after you've won. To access it again go to Creature History and watch Omega Weapon's ending again.*** 10. Farplane Cup Entry: Free Requirements: Win all 9 preceeding tournaments. Monsters you'll fight: Elder Drake Mount Mai Mai Master of Spira: Subete wo Suteshimono Trema Seymour Auron ???? (Tidus) Major Numerus Prizes: Captures- Auron: will join once defeated Seymour: will join once defeated ???? (Tidus): will join once defeated Items (you'll win one of these 4)- Iron Duke Key to Success Ragnarok Force of Nature +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Although the strategies below provide information on how to beat every boss without Iron Dukes equipped except Major Numerus, I recommend using Iron Dukes for some of them regardless as they are very difficult. Here is how to get 3 Iron Dukes somewhat fast in order to help you out. 1. Defeat Trema on floor 100 of Under Bevelle. 2. Win Iron Duke as a random prize from the Farplane Cup. 3. Repeat step 2, if possible before Numerus appears. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategies for Toughest Bosses ------------------------------------------------- Master of Spira (Paragon) /Subete wo Suteshimono ------------------------- Stats: ------ Level: 99 HP: 200000 (210000 Oversoul) MP: 9999 Gil: ? Exp: ? Immune to: All Strategy: Have each girl equipped with Mascot as well as an Oath Veil for +60 MagDef and an Invincible or RP to help Break Damage Limit. Simply have Yuna and Paine attack with their Mascot special attacks and have Rikku heal or chain for higher damage. Difficulty: 7 of 8 stars My Opinion: 7/10 Trema ----- Stats: ------ Level: 99 HP: 999999 MP: 999 Gil: 2000 Exp: 3000 Immune to: All Strategy: Don't bother to drain Trema's MP b/c it won't work here. Equip all Mascots and use a stamina tonic and heal up to 9999 HP. Raise your MagDef as high as you can and be able to Break Damage Limit or you'll have a hard time here. Use the Mascot special abilities and you deal a pretty good deal of damage. Not a really tough fight, just a long one if you are not equipped very well. Difficulty: 7 of 8 stars My Opinion: 6/10 ------------------------------------------------- Auron ----------- HP: 187,500 MP: 999 Exp: 1600 Gil: 900 Immune to: All but Silence, Def Down, Attack Down, Magic Down, MagDef Down Items Dropped: Mega Phoenix x2 Equip Yuna/Rikku/Paine: Champion Belt Invincible (for Rikku not necessary) Strategy: You should equip the Mascot DS for this fight and be at a decent level, at least 60 or so. I was at 99 which made this much easier. Take him out quickly as Auron can eject all of your players out of the fight. Use Yuna's Mog Beam and Paine's Saboten Machine Gun combined with a physical attack from Rikku and deal around 50,000 damage each time. Shouldn't be too hard. Difficulty: 6 of 8 stars My Opinion: 7/10 -------------------------------------------------- ???? (Tidus) ------------------ HP: 136,200 MP: 257 Exp: 1500 Gil: 750 Immune to: All but Def Down, Attack Down, Magic Down, MagDef Down Items Dropped: X-Potion x2 Equip Yuna/Rikku/Paine: Champion Belt Invincible (not necessary for Rikku) Strategy: Tidus is somewhat powerful if you are not at a high enough level or if you don't have sufficient defense. Level 99 and Champion Belt will take care of part of it, while Rikku's Mascot ability Power Eraser will help knock his attack power down a bit. If used 3 times it will bring it down to -x10, the max. You'll also want to use her White Mage ability Dispel once Tidus casts haste on himself as he can become VERY fast do to an apparent very high agility rate. Attack with Mog Beam and Saboten Machine Gun to deal the most damage possible. Cast hastega on your party just to get a slight upper edge and you'll be on your way to victory. Difficulty: 6 of 8 stars My Opinion: 6/10 ----------------------------------------------------- Seymour --------------- HP: 145,500 MP: 999 Exp: 1300 Gil: 1000 Immune to: All but Darkness, Def Down, Att Down, Mag Down, MagDef Down Items Dropped: Ether Turbo Equip Yuna/Rikku/Paine: Champion Belt Invincible (not necessary for Rikku) Strategy: This fight really is not tough at all. Seymour is a pushover. He is adept at using magic but if you use Mascot you'll be immune to any status effects. You can win this fight even simply by casting haste on your party and continuously chaining together physical attacks for the entire fight and only healing if absolutely necessary. If you want you can use the Mascot special attacks and win much quicker since you have Break Damage Limit. Difficulty: 6 of 8 stars My Opinion: 4/10 ----------------------------------------------------- Bahamut ------- HP: 124,000 MP: 9999 Exp: 2500 Gil: 2000 Immune to: All Items Dropped: Fo Shield Ribbon (Rare) Equip Yuna/Rikku/Paine: Champion Belt Invincible (not necessary for Rikku) Strategy: Bahamut can be harder this time around but if you've equipped your party properly than he won't deal too much damage. Use Mog Beam and Saboten Machine Gun combined with a physical attack from Rikku and at level 99 you'll pull off around 36,000 damage or so each time. This is relatively low for whatever reason. I assume that Bahamut has quite high defense stats. Do this for about 3 rounds and you'll win in a short while. Difficulty: 6 of 8 stars My Opinion: 7/10 ----------------------------------------------------- Former Akagi Team ----------------- Nooj HP: 178,000 MP: 999 Exp: 1500 Gil: 1200 Baralai HP: 125,000 MP: 999 Exp: 1400 Gil 1000 Gipple HP: 134,700 MP: 999 Exp: 1400 Gil: 1000 Strategy: I'd highly recommend the use of an Iron Duke for each girl here! It can be done without it, by mixing a Miracle Drink with Item Shooter for invincibility, but it is such a pain in the neck to get it pulled off that you are better off just putting in the extra time and effort to get the Iron Dukes to win. Nuff said. Difficulty: 7 of 8 stars My Opinion: 10/10 With Iron Dukes: 8/10 -------------------------------------------------------- Strongest Shinra ---------------- HP: 275,000 MP: 999 Exp: 3000 Gil: 3000 Auto-ability: Regen Immune to: All including Reflect Items Dropped: Dark Matter x2 Ragnarok (Rare) Attacks: Kurione (Clione) Final Impact Ultima Full Break Equip Yuna/Rikku/Paine: Champion Belt Invincible (not necessary for Rikku) Strategy: ***Note********************************************* For this fight I HIGHLY recommend having an Iron Duke equipped to each party member since Strongest Shinra is VERY powerful. Although I do recommend this I HAVE defeated him using a Champion Belt for higher attack/defense in its place. The strategy below deals with using the Champion Belt as it is aimed at those players who have not progressed through the game more than once as I have. ***************************************************** Strategy: To start out the fight, have everyone using the Mascot DS. On your result plate, have Item Shooter one slot over from Mascot so that you can quickly change and not have the least amount of jumps between the two DS's. Once the fight starts, Shinra will use his strongest attack right off the bat, Kurione. It is necessary to be in Mascot at this point as you'll will want to be able to survive this attack!! Start off by having a girl use a Megalixir/Last Elixir. This will be used AFTER he uses Kurione to gaine back all of the HP lost. Directly after Kurione, Shinra will cast Ultima, which should hopefully not deal too much damage with somewhat high magic defense. Once he is about to cast Ultima, have Rikku start to change into the Item Shooter DS. Timed right, she will change AFTER Ultima is cast so that she doesn't get KO'ed by the attack. Once changed, immediatley mix a Dark Matter and a Potion to cast Miracle Drink on the party making them invulnerable to all of his attacks! You will NEED this in order to last the fight. Kurione can be powerful enough to wipe out your entire party at the beginning so be prepared to try several times before getting it right. Well, since you are NOW in a state where you can relax, use Mog Beam and Saboten Machine Gun combined with a physical attack from Rikku to deal about 75,000 damage per hit. In order to make sure that this goes as smoothly as possible, make sure that your team is all at level 99! Good luck with this one as he is very tough!! Difficulty: 7 of 8 stars My Opinion: 10/10 With Iron Dukes: 9/10 ----------------------------------------------------- Major Numerus ------------- Total Exp: 24,000 Total Gil: 20,000 Unum HP: 555,555 MP: 999 Exp: 6000 Gil: 5000 Immune to: All Items Dropped: Enterprize Iron Duke x5 (Rare) Duo HP: 666,666 MP: 999 Exp: 6000 Gil: 5000 Immune to: All Items Dropped: Invincible Iron Duke x5 (Rare) Tria HP: 666,666 MP: 999 Exp: 6000 Gil: 5000 Immune to: All Items Dropped: Enterprize Iron Duke x5 (Rare) Quartum HP: 777,777 MP: 999 Exp: 6000 Gil: 5000 Immune to: All Items Dropped: Invincible Iron Duke x5 (Rare) Mayoru Numerusu's Abilities: Fulmen Command Venom Command Ladis Command Motus Command Confuse Holy Dispel Bio Shell Protect Meteor Brain Firaga Ultima Blizzaga Thundaga Waterga Osmose Slowga Dark Sky Break Gravity Berserk Silence Flare Sleeper ***Note********************************************* It has been argued that you don't need Iron Dukes to defeat Major Numerus, but as of this point I have yet to be successful without the preceding battle preparation. You MUST have a minimum of 3 Iron Dukes in order to even survive for 30 seconds in this fight. Even with Iron Dukes equipped an a party at level 99 you won't survive much longer than a minute or two without following this strategy. Simply put, don't be foolish: Come properly equipped or you are wasting your time!!! GOOD LUCK! **************************************************** Strategy: Going into the fight you should have your party equip as such: Yuna- DS: Mascot Acc: Iron Duke Acc: Invincible Rikku- DS: Item Shooter Acc: Iron Duke Acc: Ribbon Paine- DS: Mascot Acc: Iron Duke Acc: Invincible ***Note: That means you must have a total of at least 3 Iron Dukes before even THINKING of going to battle with Major Numerous! If you don't have them, you're wasting your time. And finally, pack at least 2 Dark Matter for the battle. Begin... Ok. This is the easiest and final strategy for Major Numerus. At the start of the fight, have Rikku mix a Dark Matter and a Potion to cast Miracle Drink on your party making them invulnerable to any attack. Rikku needs to be equipped with Ribbon to make sure that no status effects, such as petrify, effect her. During this have Paine cast the Samurai ability Peerless 5 times to raise Attack x10 and Accurracy x10. Next have Yuna and Rikku drain each of the 4 four heads 999MP with one Soul Spring each. To speed things up a little, use a Chocobo Wing to haste your party. With all that set keep a couple of things in mind for the remainder of the fight: 1)You'll need to recast Miracle Drink as the effects will wear off after approximately 25 minutes. In my fight I only mixed it a total of twice. 2)If at any point Numerus casts Protect or Shell or both on itself, change Rikku's DS to Mascot and use the White Mage ability Dispel on all four heads. From here you will want to start attacking. The most effective way to attack is using combos with the Mascot special moves. Have Yuna use Mog Beam and have Rikku use a normal physical attack and, if timed correctly, will combo for 80,000 damage provided Numerus isn't under Shell or Protect. If he is the attack will only combo for around 40,000. Your big hitter is Paine. Use her Saboten Maching Gun and a normal physical attack to deal 99,999 damage!! If Numerous is under Protect or Shell it will still deal around 70,000+ damage but I would suggest to Dispel to deal MAX damage. Keep up with the Miracle Drink mix, the dispelling, the maximum damage being inflicted and you should win in not too long. Here are my stats for the fight: Level: 99 Mixed Miracle Drink: 2 times Max damage inflicted: 99,999 almost every hit Best defeat time: 19 minutes GOOD LUCK!! Difficulty: 8 of 8 stars My Opinion: Impossible (without Iron Dukes) With Iron Dukes: 10/10 ************************************************* ************************************************* ************************************************* Now you might want to have some fun with the game since you have just defeated the most challenging boss in the game, and IMHO in almost all FF games! I say that, and people will argue with me that Penance or Ozma ia harder, but in all actuallity, he is too powerful and you won't last more than 2 minutes without using Miracle Drink. Now, here is one of the cool things that I have done: a) Capture Strongest Shinra after you've defeated him in the tournament. (Note: If you've done his story and released him to get the result plate, which I don't blame you for doing (my fave one) you can get him back by going back and watching Omega Weapon's ending again and going back through to defeat him and recapture him again. b)Since you've apparently defeated Major Numerus, you hopefully got a little lucky and ended the fight with at least 5 Iron Dukes. c)What I did is the following: -Equipped Strongest Shinra with RP Saigo No Shudan and used Mascot DS. -Equipped Shinra with 2 Iron Dukes. -Note: I recaptured Shinra when my party was at level 99 so Shinra had high stats since he was at level 94 at the time of recapture. -I fed Iron Dukes to Shinra (seeing as how I have around 30 of them) to raise all of my stats to 255!! -I fed accessories to him to gain the auto-ability Auto-Wall to cut any damage in half. -I fed an Invincible to him so that he can gain the auto-ability Break Damage Limit -My Strongest Shinra ended up with 99,999 HP and max stats!!! d)The "fun" you can have now is go back and fight Major Numerus with Strongest Shinra at max stats and have maybe another party member present. I fought him with Shinra and Paine. Paine died almost immediately with Major Numerus' Radiesu Command attack, but Shinra went all out and DESTROYED Numerus with Miracle Drink being recast repeatedly and Kurione being used, comboing for up to 30,000 damage per hit!!! This is VERY interesting to watch the hardest boss get manhandled like he's a little snake!! Enjoy!! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Update!- Defeat Numerus WITHOUT invincibility: Preamble: It is obvious that you, as the player, will have little control over what actions your creature will take, however, you CAN prime them to be able to do certain things and not to do certain things. One vice you have over them is by not feeding them any items/accessories that you do not want them to have based on the ability that will become learned through feeding it. Also, you can put another player that you can control, in my case normally Paine, into the fight so that you can keep up with using restorative items or even Miracle Drinks for the ensuing battle. For your creature, you may note that through the use of the Result Plate "Saigo no Shudan" it apparently makes the creature able to use the ability Miracle Drink on themselves or another member of your party without having to mix anything. The Miracle Drink ability of this RP is only able to be used otherwise by a playable character through crossing all of the gates on the RP first. This comes in really handy against Numerus and other enemies. My best time was: Time: 3 minutes Party: Strongest Shinra Strategy (NO INVINCIBILITY!!): What you will want to do is acquire as many Iron Dukes as possible to equip and raise all your stats up to 255. To start out, you will want to raise your party (YRP) up to level 99 so that way when you capature a creature that you want to use in the fight against Numerus, they will be leveled up a pretty good deal. Such as Strongest Shinra at level 94 at time of capture. Next you'll want to equip 2 Iron Dukes on that creature. Afterward, feed Iron Dukes to them until their stats are pinned at 255 all. As far as HP goes, strong creatures will already be able to Break HP Limit and most likely even Break Damage Limit. Humans, however, will have relatively low HP and will max out at 9999HP unless equipped with a Break HP Limit RP or fed an Enterprise for auto-BHL. From here you can feed the creature/human items or accessories to get their HP to your desired maximum, the ceiling being 99999HP. Afterward you will want to set your creature's DS to Mascot as this will give them the highest HP possible for a DS and will give them the auto ability of Ribbon. However, the Ribbon may be pointless on some creatures, such as S.Shinra, Trema, and Subete wo Suteshimono, as they automatically guard all status ailments. The fight... The rules for the fight against Numerus should be simple: When attacking, use the R3 button to raise the stars in the upper-lefthand corner to 5 to make your attacks the most effective. When defending/not attacking, use the L3 button to lower the stars to 1. This will provide the most effective defense against Numerus' attacks. With sufficient enough HP and strong enough attack damage, also made possible by the Always-Critical RP, this may become a victory on your end. With Shinra this is done quite easily, as I have done this in 7 minutes!, but with humans such as Tidus and Auron this feat will be much more of a task because of their low HP. Good luck!!! ***Note: I will be attempting this with a human player, Tidus to be exact, very soon so I will report back with how well this works shortly :p +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ----------------------------------------- Copyright 2004 - Jonrx (Jonathan Randall) neokenshi99@yahoo.com All information above has been tested and ascertained through MY own time and effort.
